Hotels Near ORD Airport: Hilton, Loews, Sonesta and Shuttles

The Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport Hotel sits directly across from Terminals 1, 2 and 3. You reach it from the domestic terminals by underground walkways. From Terminal 5, ride the Airport Transit System (ATS).

The hotel also has an indoor walkway to the CTA Blue Line, which is handy if you are heading downtown.

The airport says no planes are allowed to fly directly over the hotel, and it lists sound resistant windows. Room rates are not shown here. Check the Hilton site for current prices.

• Terminal 5: ride the Airport Transit System (ATS). The ATS runs 24 hours a day and is free.

O'Hare lists these on-site extras:

• Sports Edition Bar
• Gaslight Club, a steakhouse
• Andiamo
• Caffe Mercato, a grab and go spot that brews Starbucks coffee
• A UPS Store with a full service Business Center in the lower arcade level
• Free Wi-Fi in the hotel lobby. Wi-Fi in guest rooms carries a usage fee.

O'Hare also lists a barber shop connected to the hotel, steps from the Blue Line station.

All hotel and off-airport parking shuttle pickups moved from the Bus Shuttle Center to the Terminal 2 arrivals curbside. Some shuttles still pick up at Terminal 5. Contact your shuttle provider or hotel to find out which one applies to you.

O'Hare's Terminal 2 map shows a Hotel and Off-Site Parking Shuttles stop. The same curb serves off-airport parking shuttles, so check the name on the vehicle before you board.

These two hotels publish their shuttle details.

• Loews Chicago O'Hare Hotel, 5300 N. River Road (the hotel lists ZIP 60018). It offers a complimentary airport shuttle that runs every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day. Pickup for all flights is at Terminal 2, lower level Arrivals, in the middle lane, close to Door 2C.
• Sonesta Chicago O'Hare Airport Rosemont, 10233 West Higgins Road, Rosemont, IL 60018. The hotel page describes complimentary shuttle service to and from O'Hare, with a Track My Shuttle tool for live locations. It does not list shuttle hours or the pickup spot. It also charges a $20 daily destination fee that lists airport shuttle service among its inclusions, so ask what the shuttle costs. The hotel says the ATS Car Rental Hub is about a 5 minute walk away.

Hotel fees and shuttle terms change. Confirm with the hotel before you rely on the shuttle.

O'Hare says many hotels near the airport offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport. To request a pickup, use the free Virtual Concierge Kiosks on the arrivals level by baggage claim.

If you would rather skip the kiosk, call your hotel from baggage claim. Shuttle frequencies and hours differ by hotel, so ask when you book.

O'Hare does not publish its own list of shuttle hotels. It points travelers to the Choose Chicago hotel directory, where you search the "O'Hare" area. Check shuttle hours, pickup spot and cost with each hotel before you book.

There is no luggage storage at O'Hare, according to the airport FAQ. If you arrive early or leave late, ask your hotel whether it can hold bags.

The ATS runs around the clock, and the CTA Blue Line offers 24 hour service. That makes the on-site Hilton the simplest option for a very late arrival or a very early flight, since you can reach it on foot or by ATS. For any other hotel, confirm that its shuttle runs when your flight lands.
