ORD Gate Map: Concourses B to M, Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5

O'Hare has nine concourses, B to M, spread over Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5. The letter of your gate is its concourse. Concourses B to L are linked past security, but Concourse M, in the international Terminal 5, is not: you reach it by the free ATS train or the Terminal Transfer Bus.

How to get to your gate at O'Hare

Check your terminal first. United uses Terminal 1 (Concourses B and C), American uses Terminal 3 (Concourses G, H, K and L), and Terminal 2 (Concourses E and F) has airlines such as Alaska, JetBlue and Spirit. Terminal 5 holds Concourse M.

Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are linked on the secure side. If your gate is in another of these terminals, stay past security and follow the overhead signs. O'Hare doesn't publish walking times between concourses, so leave extra time if your gate is far away.

Getting to Concourse M in Terminal 5

Terminal 5 is O'Hare's international terminal, with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. It has no secure connection to Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

The Airport Transit System (ATS) is a free train that links Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5. It runs 24 hours a day, every 3 to 5 minutes at peak times. You leave security at one end and go through it again at the other.

Connecting passengers can stay airside on the Terminal Transfer Bus. It runs every 15 minutes from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., on two routes: Terminal 1 to Terminal 5, and Terminal 3 to Terminal 5. You need a same-day departing flight from the terminal you are going to, and a boarding pass. Stops:

  • Terminal 1: Gate C18B (the Gate B1 stop is temporarily closed)
  • Terminal 3: Gates G17 and K20
  • Terminal 5: Gate M13

Domestic and international concourses

Concourses B to L, in Terminals 1, 2 and 3, are the domestic side. Concourse M, in Terminal 5, is the international one.

Watch out: some airlines fly international departures from Terminal 1 or 3 but land at Terminal 5. O'Hare's airline map lists United, ANA and Lufthansa departures in Terminal 1, and American, British Airways, Iberia and Japan Airlines departures in Terminal 3. Their international arrivals use Terminal 5. Check your boarding pass.

Reading the gate numbers

Each concourse shows its first and last gate, for example B1 to B24. Not every number in between is used: there is no B13, and Concourse L jumps from L12 to L20. Some gates carry a letter, such as C10A, G1A and G1B, or L10A to L10C.

Open the gate list of a concourse to see every gate, or type your gate in the finder above. Gates can change, so check your boarding pass and the airport screens.

Questions travelers ask

How many gates does O'Hare have?

The gate directory of O'Hare's official interactive map lists 213 gates across nine concourses (checked October 10, 2026): 22 in B, 32 in C, 17 in E, 25 in F, 20 in G, 19 in H, 16 in K, 26 in L and 36 in M.

Which terminal is my gate in at O'Hare?

The letter of your gate gives the concourse, and each concourse belongs to one terminal. Concourses B and C are in Terminal 1, E and F in Terminal 2, G, H, K and L in Terminal 3, and M in Terminal 5.

Can I walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 5 at O'Hare?

Not past security. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are linked on the secure side, but Terminal 5 is not. Take the free ATS train, which runs 24 hours a day, or the Terminal Transfer Bus if you are connecting (11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., same-day flight needed).

Which concourse is international at O'Hare?

Concourse M, in Terminal 5, where U.S. Customs and Border Protection is located. Some airlines, including United and American, fly international departures from Terminals 1 and 3, but their international flights land at Terminal 5.

Is there a Terminal 4 at O'Hare?

No. O'Hare's terminals are numbered 1, 2, 3 and 5. The ATS train stops at Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5 and at the Multi-Modal Facility.
