SRQ Security Checkpoints: Concourse A and B, PreCheck, CLEAR

SRQ has two security checkpoints, one for each concourse. Concourse A (gates A4 to A8, used by Allegiant) is on Level 1 and Concourse B (gates B1 to B14) on Level 2 on the airport's map, each with its own checkpoint. The airport's FAQ says to arrive at least 1 hour before a domestic flight and 2 hours before an international one.

The two SRQ security checkpoints

Each concourse at SRQ has its own checkpoint. The airport's map shows Concourse A on Level 1 and Concourse B on Level 2:

  • Concourse A checkpoint: for gates A4 to A8. Allegiant flies from Concourse A.
  • Concourse B checkpoint: for gates B1 to B14.

Check in first in the ticket wing on Level 1, then go to the checkpoint that matches your gate letter. SRQ does not say which other airlines use Concourse B, so read the gate on your boarding pass or in your airline's app.

Concourse A opened as the airport's 5-gate expansion, east of the ticket wing. The airport's groundbreaking release said it would include a 4-lane security checkpoint.

Checkpoint hours

SRQ does not publish opening hours for either checkpoint. If you have an early morning flight, ask your airline when screening opens, and allow the airport's recommended time before departure.

How early to arrive at SRQ

The airport's FAQ says to arrive at least 1 hour before a domestic flight and at least 2 hours before an international flight.

A separate travel tips page on the same website asks you to plan on at least 2 hours before departure and warns that busy season can mean extra time for check-in and security. The airport does not say which page is current, so the 2-hour buffer is the safer plan when the airport is busy. Your airline may also set its own rule.

TSA PreCheck at SRQ

SRQ's website sends you to TSA for PreCheck information and does not say which checkpoint has PreCheck lanes. Ask your airline or the TSA officers at your concourse checkpoint.

You can enroll in PreCheck at the airport. CLEAR runs a TSA PreCheck enrollment location that its website places in Terminal B, on Level 2 near the entrance to the arrivals area. CLEAR lists these hours:

  • Monday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday to Sunday: 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

CLEAR's 2025 opening announcement gave different hours (6 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day), so check CLEAR's location page before you go. You pre-enroll online through CLEAR and finish the application at the airport.

CLEAR Mobile Lane

SRQ is one of the airports where CLEAR offers a CLEAR Mobile Lane. CLEAR lists no classic CLEAR kiosk lane at SRQ.

How it works, according to CLEAR:

  • CLEAR+ members show the QR code in the CLEAR app. No reservation or purchase is needed.
  • Other travelers buy a pass online. The QR code is emailed to you and is valid for 24 hours on your travel day.
  • Children under 18 can join you for free. Anyone 18 or older needs a membership or a pass.
  • CLEAR Mobile does not verify your identity, so keep your ID and boarding pass ready.

CLEAR does not say where the lane is at SRQ or whether it leads into PreCheck screening here. Check CLEAR's SRQ page or ask at the checkpoint. Pass prices are set by CLEAR on its booking site.

Security wait times

SRQ does not post live security wait times on flysrq.com, and it has no checkpoint reservation program. Plan with the airport's arrival advice above, and use PreCheck or the CLEAR Mobile Lane if you have them.

ID, bags and what you can bring

Bring a government-issued photo ID. SRQ says Real ID-compliant identification is required for every passenger 18 and older. Only ticketed passengers can go past the checkpoints. If you need someone to accompany you for medical or parental reasons, ask your airline's ticket counter for a gate pass.

For prohibited items, SRQ sends you to TSA's current list. TSA-approved luggage locks are sold in the gift shop at SRQ.

Firearms cannot be carried through the checkpoint. The airport warns that doing so breaks Florida law and can lead to a criminal charge and a TSA fine. A firearm seized at the checkpoint is returned only after the State Attorney's Office releases it, by appointment at 941-359-2770 ext. 4256.

Help at security and lost items

  • Wheelchair: flying out, request one at the ticketing wing. Flying in, request one when you book, at check-in or from a flight attendant.
  • TSA Cares helpline for travelers with disabilities and medical conditions: 1-855-787-2227.
  • Hidden Disabilities Sunflower lanyards are free at the airport's volunteer desks. They do not give you a faster line, but they tell staff you may need help.
  • Lost something at the checkpoint? Contact Aviation Management Services, TSA's contractor at SRQ, at a-s-mgmt.com/srq-lost-and-found.
