SRQ terminal, concourses and airlines

SRQ has a single terminal. Airline ticketing, baggage claim, rental car counters and ground transportation are on Level 1. After check-in, you go through the security checkpoint for your concourse:

  • Concourse A: gates A4 to A8, on Level 1 on the airport's map, with its own checkpoint. Allegiant occupies Concourse A, and SRQ is one of Allegiant's largest bases.
  • Concourse B: gates B1 to B14, on Level 2 on the airport's map, with its own checkpoint. SRQ does not publish which airlines use Concourse B, so confirm your gate on your boarding pass.

SRQ lists 10 airlines: Air Canada, Allegiant, American, Avelo, Breeze, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, Sun Country and United. Its nonstop list has 68 destinations, many of them seasonal. Air Canada flies seasonally to Toronto, the only international route on that list. That list also links its year-round Cleveland and Philadelphia flights to Frontier's website, although Frontier is not on the airlines page, so check with Frontier if you plan to fly it.

Sun Country also operates gaming charter flights from SRQ to Gulfport-Biloxi (GPT), sold through Casino Gold Tours.

The airport's interactive terminal map at flysrq.com shows gates, restaurants, restrooms, pet relief areas and elevators on both levels.

What's changing at SRQ

Check these before you fly:

  • Concourse A is the newest concourse. The airport broke ground on the 5-gate expansion, east of the ticket wing, in March 2023. The airport's 2023 groundbreaking release said it would include a 4-lane security checkpoint. It is now Allegiant's concourse.
  • Concourse B is being refreshed. SRQ's shopping page says new retail options are coming soon during construction, and the airport's food operator says new restaurants, bars and shops are part of the work.
  • Construction near parking: the sidewalk between the terminal and the Shade and Overflow lots is temporarily redirected. Expect about a 3-minute walk, or take the parking shuttle.
  • Planned expansion: a Draft Environmental Assessment published in September 2026 proposes a two-level concourse linking Concourse A to Concourse B, with three more gates, plus a four-level parking garage with about 3,700 spaces across from the curb. Rental car counters would move from baggage claim to that garage. The public comment period runs to November 4, 2026. No construction dates are published yet.

Arrivals, departures and pickup

SRQ's FAQ says to arrive at least 1 hour before a domestic flight and 2 hours before an international one. Ask your airline, too, since its own rule may be earlier.

For flight times and gate changes, check your airline. SRQ says flight information comes from the airlines, and it points to the AeroCloud app for flight and airport information.

How the curbs work:

  • The curb in front of the terminal is for active loading and unloading only. Unattended vehicles are towed.
  • Waiting for someone? Use the Cell Phone Lot at 1180 Rental Car Road, a minute's drive from the terminal. It has 124 paved spaces, 5 of them accessible, plus restrooms and vending machines. You can also park in the short-term lot.
  • Uber and Lyft pick up at the far west end of the ticket wing, in the Ground Transportation area. Follow the signs or the app.
  • ALD Limo's eco-friendly sedans, luxury sedans and SUVs wait just outside baggage claim on the west end of the terminal, for every arriving flight. A starter gives you a fixed rate for your destination. Another taxi or limo company works too, but you must call ahead and meet it in the second lane of the Ground Transportation queuing area.

Getting around SRQ and into town

SRQ is a compact airport. The airport says walking from an arrival gate to baggage claim takes only a few minutes, and parking and ground transportation are next to baggage claim.

Luggage carts cost $5.00 in the baggage claim wing and on the curb outside baggage claim, with a rebate when you return the cart. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards, plus $1 or $5 bills, are accepted.

The airport puts downtown Sarasota six miles south and downtown Bradenton ten miles north; the drive to Sarasota City Hall is about 4 miles (7 km) by road, around 10 minutes without traffic. Ways into town:

  • Public bus: Sarasota County's Breeze Transit and Manatee County Area Transit (MCAT) stop in the Ground Transportation area at the west end of baggage claim. SRQ says buses from both counties go to downtown Sarasota and downtown Bradenton. Breeze says standard routes run 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, with start and stop times varying by route. Call Breeze at 941-861-5000 or MCAT at 941-749-7116 for the route, schedule and fare.
  • Rideshare, taxi and ALD Limo: see the pickup details above.
  • Hotel shuttles: several hotels are permitted to pick up at SRQ in 2026, including the DoubleTree by Hilton SRQ, Hampton Sarasota Bradenton Airport, Hilton Garden Inn and Home2 Suites, Hyatt Place Sarasota, Aloft Sarasota and voco Sarasota. Call your hotel before you land.

The airport does not run shuttles to other airports. ALD Limo quotes rates for those trips.

International arrivals and customs

SRQ is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection user fee port of entry. The airport's CBP office includes a Federal Inspection Station for arriving commercial flights. On SRQ's current nonstop list, the international route is Air Canada's seasonal service to Toronto.

The CBP office is at 6048 Airport Circle, Sarasota, phone 941-359-5040. Private aircraft arriving from abroad need prior arrangements with CBP.
