EWR parking lots at a glance
Newark has four official on-airport parking facilities:
- Terminal A Short-Term Parking (the Terminal A garage that also holds the Rental Car Center)
- Terminals B & C Short-Term Parking
- P4 Daily Parking
- P6 Economy Parking
The free AirTrain connects the terminals, central parking, the rental car center and hotel shuttles. P6 has its own free shuttle bus.
The Port Authority's 2025 traffic report also mentions a C garage across from Terminal C and describes Short-Term Parking B as a surface lot in the central terminal area. EWR's parking page lists only the four facilities above, so book one of those and follow the signs when you arrive.
EWR parking rates
Daily maximums per 24 hours, as published on EWR's parking page (checked October 10, 2026):
- Terminal A Short-Term: $65 drive-up, as low as $50 prebooked
- Terminals B & C Short-Term: $70 drive-up, as low as $50 prebooked
- P4 Daily: $60 drive-up, as low as $40 prebooked
- P6 Economy: $35 for the first 24 hours, as low as $30 prebooked
Before you reach the maximum, the short-term garages charge $5.25 for the first half hour and P4 charges $4.25. The rate tables list $10.50 (Terminal A and Terminals B & C) or $8.50 (P4) for each additional half hour or fraction thereof on stays over three hours. Charges are in 30-minute increments. Prebook rates need a booking at least 3 hours in advance.
Travelers with restricted mobility and a valid ADA plate, placard or permit have a $35 24-hour maximum in the short-term lots.
Rates change, so confirm on the booking page or call the airport's parking information line at +1 (888) 397-4636 and select 2.
Reserving parking at Newark
You can reserve online. The airport says to book at least 3 hours in advance to guarantee a spot. With a reservation, you may enter up to 2 hours before your booked time.
Premium parking spaces are closer to your terminal. They are in each parking garage and must be reserved online in advance.
The parking page also shows how full each lot is, which changes through the day. Check it before you drive in.
P6 Economy shuttle
The free shuttle runs between P6 and Terminals A, B and C, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It arrives about every 10 minutes, and you can track it in real time on the airport's shuttle tracker (ewrshuttle.passiogo.com).
When you come back for your car, follow the Parking P6 signs to the pickup spots: Terminal A, Level 1 (across two roadways), Terminal B, Level 1 (across two roadways) and Terminal C, Level 1 (across one roadway).
AirTrain work that affects parking trips
From July 27 to November 13, 2026, the AirTrain does not serve the Airport Train Station Monday to Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. while a new AirTrain is built. A free shuttle bus fills in.
Service between Terminals A, B and C, Rental Cars, P3 Station and P4 Daily Parking is not affected. If you take a train to the airport, budget an extra 10 to 15 minutes.
How to pay for parking
You can pay with a Mastercard, Visa, Discover or American Express credit or debit card, E-ZPass, or Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay. For a faster exit, use your card at an Express Pay machine.
E-ZPass Plus: you must register for E-ZPass Plus and link a valid credit card. Enter through lanes with purple E-ZPass signs and do not pull a ticket. Fees of $20 or under come from your E-ZPass balance. Fees of $20 or more are charged to the linked card.
Cell phone lot and curb rules
The Cell Phone Lot is free and less than five minutes from all terminals. It is near the airport entrance next to the P4 Daily Parking garage, with portable restrooms. EWR's site says it has more than 100 spaces, while the Port Authority's 2025 traffic report says 200, so treat the count as approximate.
To find it, type Newark Cell Phone Lot into your GPS or follow the signs as you enter.
Curb drop-off is for active loading and unloading only. Parking at the curb is not permitted, and unattended vehicles are towed at the owner's expense. The airport publishes no time limit for the curb or the lot.
EV charging and accessible parking
Level II chargers: 13 ports in the P4 Daily Parking garage and 162 ports on level 5 of the Terminal A Short-Term garage. Networks are ChargePoint and PowerFlex. Level III chargers: 8 ports at the Cell Phone Lot (ZAPP) and 8 at the Exxon on Lindbergh Road (Tesla). Parking fees are collected when you leave the lot.
Accessible spaces are in each short-term lot near the terminal entrances, subject to availability. They cannot be reserved. A courtesy discount applies with a valid ADA plate, placard or permit after at least 4.5 hours. It cannot be combined with a prebooked reservation or E-ZPass Plus. Enter through the ticket lane, not E-ZPass, and press HELP at exit.
