Getting from MCO to Downtown Orlando

Downtown Orlando is about 15 miles by road, roughly a 33 minute drive without traffic. That time is a route estimate, not an airport figure, so add time for rush hour.

MCO lists these options for the trip: Lynx city bus, shuttle van, taxi, ride apps, limousine and, for Miami and South Florida, Brightline. Prices below come from the airport's approximate rate chart, checked October 9, 2026. They change, so confirm before you pay.

Approximate fares by destination

MCO lists these rates. Shuttle vans show two numbers and the chart does not label them, so ask the attendant for one way and round trip fares.

  • Airport hotels: hotel shuttle free, bus $2, shuttle van $15/$22, taxi $14 to $18.
  • International Drive: bus $2, shuttle van $21/$33, taxi $38 to $45.
  • Downtown Orlando: bus $2, shuttle van $20/$32, taxi $38 to $45.
  • Winter Park and Maitland: bus $2, shuttle van $29/$49, taxi $45 to $55.
  • Lake Buena Vista: bus $2, shuttle van $23/$37, taxi $47 to $55.
  • Kissimmee hotels: bus $2, shuttle van $29/$49, taxi $45 to $75.
  • Disney resorts: bus $4, shuttle van $23/$37, taxi $52 to $68.
  • Port Canaveral: taxi $115. No bus or shuttle van listed.
  • Limousine: $50 to $90 in every zone.

Taxis run on a meter and MCO says flat rate fees are not authorized, so your fare can differ from these approximations. MCO publishes no fare for Uber and Lyft.

Lynx city buses (Link 11, 42 and 311)

The Lynx bus stop is in Terminal A on Level 1 (Ground Transportation), at Commercial Lane spaces A38 to A41. From Terminal B or C, walk or ride to the Terminal A bus stop. Fare: $2.00 per ride, or $4.50 for an all-day pass (valid from 4 am to 3 am the next day). Tell the driver you want the all-day pass before you pay. Transfers are free, valid for 90 minutes and not good on the same route or for a round trip. Lynx checked October 10, 2026.

Three Lynx routes serve the airport. The first and last trips below are the spans on the Lynx route pages. They list no frequency, so open the timetable on golynx.com for exact times.

  • Link 11 (S. Orange Avenue): connects LYNX Central Station in downtown Orlando with MCO via the Sand Lake SunRail station. From MCO, first trip 5:10 am and last trip 12:08 am on weekdays; 5:10 am to 11:06 pm Saturday; 6:25 am to 11:04 pm Sunday and holidays. This is the route for downtown.
  • Link 42 (International Drive / Oak Ridge Road): runs between MCO, the Sand Lake SunRail station, Florida Mall, International Drive and Destination Parkway. From MCO to Destination Parkway: 5:05 am to 1:10 am on weekdays, 5:35 am to 1:10 am Saturday, 5:30 am to 1:33 am Sunday and holidays.
  • Link 311 (Disney / Destination Parkway Express): runs between MCO and Disney Springs via Sand Lake SunRail, Florida Mall, Epic Universal Transfer Center and Destination Parkway. From MCO: 4:50 am to 10:57 pm on weekdays, 5:05 am to 10:59 pm Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

MCO names these bus destinations: Destination Parkway, Downtown Orlando, Florida Mall, Orange County Convention Center, Premium Outlets, Sand Lake Road SunRail station and SeaWorld. Lynx customer service: (407) 841-5969. MCO's rate chart shows a $4 bus fare for the Disney resorts zone, while Lynx lists $2 per ride, so ask the driver before you board.

Shuttle vans and Mears

Shuttle vans load on Level 1 at Terminal A (spaces A19 to A21), Terminal B (B76 to B78) and Terminal C (C200 to C204). Fares are per person. Cards accepted: American Express, MasterCard and Visa. Check with the attendant for round trip fares and children's rates.

Mears Destination Services holds the airport's ground transportation contract and runs buses, sedans, limousines and shuttle vans. Call +1-855-463-2776. MCO gives no van frequency or ride time.

Taxis

Taxi stands: Terminal A, Level 1 between spaces A22 and A25; Terminal B, Level 1 between B30 and B34; Terminal C, Arrivals Curb, Level 6.

A taxi can carry up to 9 people at the same metered rate, which can make it cheaper than a shuttle for groups. Companies on MCO's list: Diamond Cab (407-523-3333), Quick Cab (407-447-1444), Town & Country Transport (407-828-3035) and Mears Taxi (407-422-2222).

Uber, Lyft and other ride apps

Uber, Lyft, Wingz and KreweCar all use the same curbs.

  • Pickup at Terminals A and B: Arrivals Curb, Level 2, 24 hours a day. The Departures Curb, Level 3, also works between 9 pm and 2 am.
  • Pickup at Terminal C: Arrivals Curb, Level 6.
  • Drop-off at Terminals A and B: Departures Curb, Level 3. At Terminal C: Departures Curb, Level 2.

MCO publishes no ride app price or wait time. Use the price in your app before you confirm.

Brightline and SunRail

Brightline stops at the MCO Train Station and serves West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura and Miami. MCO lists station hours as daily 5 am to 11 pm. Call 831-539-2901 or see gobrightline.com for schedules. Brightline fares change by date, so check gobrightline.com before you plan around a price.

From Terminal C, walk across the Pedestrian Bridge to the Train Station. From Terminals A and B, ride the Terminal Link, a people mover of about 4 minutes. MCO's FAQ says the Terminal Link runs 24 hours a day. Terminal C is the only U.S. airport terminal linked to intercity rail, MCO says.

SunRail does not come to the airport. Lynx Links 11, 42 and 311 all stop at the Sand Lake SunRail station. SunRail runs Monday to Friday only, per MCO from 5:30 am to 9:30 pm, so plan another way on weekends. Call 1-855-RAIL-411. MCO says no date has been published for a direct rail link.

Amtrak and Greyhound

Both go by Lynx bus.

  • Amtrak: the station is about 12 miles away. Take Lynx 11 to Orange Avenue and Columbia Street, about 30 minutes for $2, then walk about half a mile down Columbia Street and left onto Sligh Blvd.
  • Greyhound: about 13 miles. Take Lynx 11 to North Garland Avenue, then Lynx 25 to 500 John Young Parkway. The station is across the road at 555 N. John Young Parkway. About 60 minutes for $2.

MCO says to check the Lynx site for current details.

Hotel shuttles, out-of-town shuttles and cruises

Free hotel shuttles load on Level 1 at each terminal and at the Train Station. Universal's SuperStar Shuttle stops at Terminal A (spaces A30 to A33) and Terminal C (C282 to C283). The Hyatt Regency is inside the terminal, between A and B above the security checkpoint for gates 70 to 129.

Out-of-town shuttles to Daytona, Cocoa Beach, Tampa, Ocala and other cities load on Level 1 at Terminal A (A14 to A15) and Terminal C (C205 to C209). MCO's pages disagree on the Terminal B spaces, so look for signs there. These shuttles cannot serve Disney, International Drive, Universal, Lake Buena Vista, Downtown Orlando or US 192.

For Port Canaveral, the drive is 42 miles. Ask your cruise line first, or call Mears (+1-855-463-2776) or Busy Traveler (+1-321-453-5278). MCO also lists Cocoa Beach Shuttle, Go Port and Sunward Tours, but its pages give conflicting phone numbers for them, so look up their numbers before you call. MCO lists a $115 taxi rate.
