JFK lounges by terminal

Start with the terminal on your boarding pass. JFK's official directory lists 23 lounges and rest spaces, and each one sits in a single terminal.

  • Terminal 1: Air France Lounge, Lufthansa Senator and Business Lounge, Turkish Airlines Lounge, Korean Air (KAL) Lounge, Primeclass Lounge, and VIP ONE, which is before security.
  • Terminal 4: Amex Centurion Lounge, Chase Sapphire Lounge, Capital One Lounge, Delta One Lounge, Delta Sky Club in Concourse A and in Concourse B, Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, Emirates Lounge and Air India Maharaja Lounge.
  • Terminal 5: JetBlue BlueHouse.
  • Terminal 7: Aer Lingus Lounge and Horizons T7 Lounge.
  • Terminal 8: Admirals Club, plus the Chelsea, Soho and Greenwich lounges run by American Airlines and British Airways.

Don't plan on hopping terminals for a lounge. The Korean Air lounge, for example, asks Priority Pass members for a Terminal 1 boarding pass.

Priority Pass lounges at JFK

Eight JFK lounges accept Priority Pass. Two are in Terminal 4 and six in Terminal 1. Terminals 5, 7 and 8 have none. Read the hours closely, because several lounges only take members at certain times.

  • Air India Lounge (T4, Level 4, after security): members 8 AM to 10:30 PM, 2-hour maximum stay.
  • Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse (T4, above gate A5): Priority Pass lists member hours of 5 AM to 1:30 PM, while Virgin's own hours are 5 AM to 8 AM and 2 PM to 11:30 PM. Go early and check the Priority Pass app on the day. Showers cost members $15.
  • Air France Lounge (T1, by Gate 1): Priority Pass may restrict entry from 1 PM to 5 PM. The cardholder must be 21 or older, 3-hour maximum.
  • Lufthansa Business Lounge (T1): members get in on Tuesday and Wednesday only, 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM, until further notice.
  • Turkish Airlines Lounge (T1, between gates 2 and 3): international flights only, entry from 3 hours before departure, smart casual dress.
  • Korean Air Lounge (T1, across from Gate 3): members 9:30 PM to 12:50 AM only, with a Terminal 1 boarding pass.
  • Primeclass Lounge (T1, after security, toward gates 8 to 10): hours change by day of the week, 3-hour maximum, cocktails cost extra.
  • VIP ONE Lounge (T1): before security, behind check-in counters E and F next to the TSA checkpoint. International flights only, 8 AM to midnight, 3-hour maximum.

The Chase Sapphire Lounge in Terminal 4 is no longer listed on Priority Pass, so don't count on a Priority Pass membership alone to get in.

Credit card lounges: Amex Centurion, Chase Sapphire, Capital One

All three card lounges are in Terminal 4.

The Centurion Lounge: after security, turn left and go up to Level 4. It is open 5 AM to 10 PM and has a shower suite and a family room. Platinum, Centurion and Delta SkyMiles Reserve cardmembers get in within 3 hours of departure, or 5 hours before a connecting flight, but not right after landing. Delta Reserve holders also need a same-day flight marketed or operated by Delta. Guests of US Platinum cardmembers cost $50 per adult and $30 per child aged 2 to 17.

Your Platinum Card opens more than the Centurion: Amex's finder lists 13 JFK spots, including both Delta Sky Clubs and several Terminal 1 lounges.

Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with Etihad Airways: near gate A2, open 5 AM to 11 PM daily. Sapphire Reserve, J.P. Morgan Reserve and Ritz-Carlton cardmembers get in within 3 hours of departure, as do primary Sapphire Reserve for Business cardmembers, with up to two guests free. Chase currently shows a "temporarily limited operations" notice with no explanation, so check its page before you walk over. Showers can be booked. Before 6 AM Monday to Saturday, and before 10 AM on Sunday, only non-alcoholic drinks are served.

Capital One Lounge: Level 3 of the Terminal 4 Retail Hall, near the B gates, open 24 hours. Primary Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders get in with a same-day boarding pass. JFK lists private shower suites.
