Hotels Near IAH Airport: Marriott on Site and Free Shuttles

The Houston Airport Marriott is the only hotel on IAH property, between Terminals B and C. A free underground train, the Subway, connects it to the terminals. Two nearby hotels in Humble, the Ramada and the Days Inn, advertise a free IAH shuttle on their own sites. For any other hotel, request the shuttle from the phones or kiosks in baggage claim.

Your options at a glance

The one hotel on airport property

The Houston Airport Marriott is the only hotel on IAH property. It sits between Terminals B and C. The airport says a free underground train service connects the hotel to all airline gates within minutes, and a walkable tunnel runs alongside on the Subway level.

The hotel lists a fitness center, an outdoor saltwater pool, a 24-hour business center, an M Club Lounge and an on-site restaurant and bar called Flight's Lounge & Grill.

Getting to the Marriott: the Subway

The Subway is an underground train that runs outside security. IAH lists Subway stations at Terminals A, C and D/E and at the Airport Marriott.

  • Cost: free.
  • Frequency: a train every 3 minutes.
  • Hours: every day from 3:15 a.m. to 12:15 a.m. It is closed between 12:15 a.m. and 3:15 a.m.
  • Ride time: about 3 minutes between one station and the next.

If you land after 12:15 a.m., the Subway is not running. Call the hotel before you fly to ask how to reach it, since IAH posts no overnight Subway option.

Other hotels: where to catch the shuttle

To request a hotel shuttle, use the direct-dial phones or the Interactive Visitor Kiosks in baggage claim in Terminals A and C. Then follow signs to Ground Transportation. Exits are marked Hotel Shuttles.

  • Terminal A: south side, Door A-115, outside baggage claim on the arrivals level.
  • Terminal C: south side, Door C-105, outside baggage claim on the arrivals level.
  • Terminal E: Level 2 Departures, west side. Door E-203 is for pick-up and Door E-201 is for drop-off.

If you arrive at Terminal D, you clear Customs and Immigration in the Terminal E international arrivals hall, so use the Terminal E door.

Arriving at Terminal B or D

IAH's hotel shuttle page lists pick-up doors only at Terminals A, C and E, plus the Terminal E door for passengers arriving at Terminal D after Customs.

If you arrive at Terminal B, ask your hotel where its driver meets you. IAH lists Subway stations at Terminals A, C and D/E, so you can also ride to a terminal with a listed door.

Hours, frequency and fares for hotel shuttles

Houston Airports posts no airport-wide schedule for hotel shuttles. Each hotel runs its own, so IAH does not publish hours, wait times or whether a given hotel charges.

Before you fly, check your hotel's own website or call it. Ask whether the shuttle is free, how often it runs, and whether it runs overnight.

Hotels with a free IAH shuttle

IAH's own hotel page describes only the Houston Airport Marriott. These two hotels in Humble, east of the airport, state a free IAH shuttle on their own websites:

  • Ramada by Wyndham Houston Intercontinental Airport East, 6115 Will Clayton Parkway, Humble, TX 77338, 1-832-412-1358. The hotel says it provides a free 24/7 shuttle to IAH. The page does not say where it picks up, so call to arrange it.
  • Days Inn by Wyndham Humble/Houston Intercontinental Airport, 9824 JM Hester Road, Humble, TX 77338, 1-281-570-4795. The hotel offers a free shuttle to IAH. Its page gives no hours, so ask when you book.

Other hotels near IAH may run shuttles too. Confirm that yours serves IAH, which door it uses, and its hours.

Day rooms and showers between flights

The Houston Airport Marriott sells a Day Pass. It gives daytime access to a guest room, the outdoor saltwater pool, a fitness center and the on-site restaurant. Book it on the hotel's own page, and check the hotel for pricing and hours, since room prices vary by date.

IAH also says nearby hotels may offer day rooms or gyms with showers at a special rate. In the terminals, Minute Suites at Gate C14 in Terminal C offers a private place to nap or shower after security.

Driving to your hotel

The Houston Airport Marriott is at 18700 John F Kennedy Blvd, Houston, TX 77032, although IAH's hotel page prints no address. Check your confirmation email, and make sure your navigation app shows the same address before you start driving.

IAH also says the Rental Car Center is about 5 minutes from the terminals by shuttle, if you are picking up a car on the way.

The Ramada is at 6115 Will Clayton Parkway and the Days Inn at 9824 JM Hester Road, both in Humble.
