Hotels Near FLL Airport: Free Shuttles and Where to Board

FLL says hotel shuttles pick up in designated areas on the lower level (Arrivals) curb. Follow the hotel wayfinding signs.

Which curb depends on your terminal:

• Terminal 1: leave the terminal, turn right and follow the signs to GTA 1.
• Terminal 2: the Terminals 2 and 3 curb (GTA 2) is closed until further notice. Follow the signs to GTA 1.
• Terminal 3: turn right and follow the signs to GTA 3.
• Terminal 4: turn left and follow the signs to GTA 3. The GTA 4 curb east of Terminal 4 is closed until further notice.

The airport lists the Rental Car Center/Cypress Garage shuttle and the off-airport parking shuttle at the same stops, so read the name on the vehicle.

Two ground transportation curbs are closed until further notice. GTA 2, for Terminals 2 and 3, closed on March 10, 2025. GTA 4, east of Terminal 4, closed on April 11, 2025.

FLL says the GTA 2 closure is for construction of the post-security walkway that will connect Terminals 2 and 3. Signs on site decide where you go, so follow them over this page.

FLL does not publish a list. The airport says many area hotels offer free shuttles to and from the airport and tells you to contact your hotel. For a full hotel list it points to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau (Visit Lauderdale).

For cruise travelers, FLL says there are many economy hotels within five miles of the airport, and several offer free shuttle service to both the airport and the seaport. On Visit Lauderdale, choose Hotels, then Airport Hotels under Filter Your Search.

These hotels are reported to run an airport shuttle. Shuttle hours differ between listings, so we do not publish them. Call the hotel before you count on a pickup.

• Homewood Suites by Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Airport-Cruise Port, 2061 Griffin Road, Dania Beach, FL 33312: listed as a free airport shuttle. The cruise port shuttle is a separate paid service.
• Four Points by Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruise Port, 1800 S Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316: listed as a free airport shuttle, on request. The cruise port shuttle costs extra.

Other airport-area hotels advertise shuttles with hours that vary or are not posted. Ask before you book.

FLL says there are no free shuttles from the airport to Port Everglades, which is about a 10 minute ride, so any hotel cruise shuttle may carry a fee. Ask what it costs and whether it runs on your sailing day.

On cruise days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday) many returning passengers reach the airport at about 8:30 a.m., so terminals can be crowded and seats scarce. A hotel pickup after breakfast helps you avoid the first rush.

Pick a hotel that states its shuttle hours in writing, and check them against your landing time. Ask what happens if your flight lands late.

If a hotel runs on request, call from the lower level once you have your bags. FLL says courtesy phones in the baggage claim areas connect directly to local car companies and hotels.

We found no hotel inside the FLL terminals on the airport's pages. Every option here is off airport and reached by shuttle, taxi or ride share.

If you need a bed between flights, book a nearby hotel with a shuttle and plan your return pickup time before you leave the airport.

Ask four things: is the shuttle free, does it run at your arrival hour, which curb (GTA 1 or GTA 3) does it use, and is it shared with another property. Shuttle service can change without notice.
