FLL Car Rental: Rental Car Center, Shuttles and Companies

All 12 on-airport rental brands sit in one building, the Rental Car Center, next to Terminal 1. Walk there from Terminal 1, or ride the free shuttle from Terminals 2, 3 and 4. The shuttle runs every 10 minutes, around the clock.

Your options at a glance

Where is the Rental Car Center?

The Rental Car Center (RCC) is a single building next to Terminal 1. Its GPS address is 600 Terminal Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315. An ATM is on level 3, near the front doors.

Twelve companies work from the building. The other rental companies at FLL are off site and are covered below.

Getting there from Terminal 1

Walk. Follow the rental car signs to the Concourse B pedestrian bridge on level 2, near the Concourse B security checkpoint. The same bridge takes you back to Terminal 1 when you return the car.

Getting there from Terminals 2, 3 and 4

Follow the rental car signs to the shuttle pick-up area outside baggage claim on the lower level (Arrivals). The shuttle is free.

It runs every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It stops on the lower level at each terminal and on level 3 of the center.

Construction note: FLL says the curbside pick-up area GTA 2 (for Terminals 2 and 3) has been closed since March 10, 2025, until further notice. FLL tells Terminal 2 passengers to follow the signs to GTA 1 and Terminal 3 passengers to GTA 3 for the Rental Car Center shuttle. The work is a post-security walkway that will link Terminals 2 and 3.

  • Go Rentals: 954-951-8005

Go to the Rental Car Center first, then to Zone G for a courtesy shuttle. A courtesy phone between bus stop 6 and Zone G lets you call the company. The tenant directory also lists RentMax (3112 SE 4th Avenue, 954-462-2224), Carl's Van Rentals (2400 South Andrews Avenue) and AAAA Special Rentals (5200 South SR 7, 954-792-1005). It gives Ace a South Andrews Avenue address too, although the center table puts Ace on level 3. Call before you go.

Returning your rental car

Return the car to your company inside the Rental Car Center before your flight. FLL's page has a detailed map and directions to the center. Then take the free shuttle to Terminals 2, 3 or 4, or walk the level 2 bridge to Terminal 1.

FLL publishes no recommended return time. Allow extra time for the shuttle and for security, and for cruise-day crowds.

Cruise days and long layovers

Cruise days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday) are busy at FLL. Many returning cruise passengers reach FLL around 8:30 AM, and airlines may check bags only up to two hours before departure on those days.

FLL suggests renting a car for a long layover or a late flight, since the center is across from Terminal 1. Leave enough time to get back and clear security.

Fees, Turo and special needs

FLL publishes no rental fees or airport charges and has no page about Turo or other peer-to-peer rentals. Check the total price, including airport fees, in your rental company's booking before you pay. For a Turo or other peer-to-peer rental, ask the host for the exact pick-up spot before you land.

Child seats: the airport, airlines and transport companies do not provide them. Ask your rental company about a seat or bring your own.

Accessibility: with advance notice, most rental companies provide cars with hand controls, so contact your company. Wheelchair-accessible taxi vans are arranged at 954-270-9535.

Traffic on the way out

Florida's 511 service gives real-time traffic, construction and severe weather information by phone or online, in English and Spanish.
