Start with the local ones.

  • Buddy's Pizza, McNamara near Gate A5: Detroit-style pizza, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Leo's Coney Island, McNamara near Gate A46 (burgers, hot dogs, soup and breakfast), and National Coney Island, in both terminals (Coney dogs, fries and chili).

Before security

McNamara lists these before the checkpoints: Dunkin' at Baggage Claim, National Coney Island, Tim Horton's, Coney Express, Reflections (the Westin restaurant), Born in Detroit Kitchen and Bar and the Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company near Gates B6 and B8, and Cask & Craft near Gate A63. Vending is also listed there: Illy Coffee, Farmer's Fridge, Zabot Pizza and Berry's Halal Jerky.

Evans has Grand River Market and Cantoro Italian Market (both 5 a.m. to midnight), National Coney Island near Gate D18, and vending.

DTW's directory flags the B6, B8 and A63 listings as before security even though those gate numbers are in the concourses. If you are not sure where to go, ask at the terminal's information desk.

McNamara Terminal: Concourse A

Quick: Qdoba and Chick-fil-A (A72), 7greens (A61 and A63), Corridor Kitchen, Grobbel's Gourmet Deli and Coffee Beanery (A8), Detroit Street Lunchbox (A74), Plum Market with Zingerman's (A36), Spirited Grounds (A71) and Starbucks (A61 and A18).

Chick-fil-A is closed Sunday. Qdoba opens at 7 a.m. Monday to Saturday and 5 a.m. Sunday.

McNamara Terminal: Concourses B and C

Concourse B: Smashburger (B19 and B21), Potbelly and Chili's (B2), Embers Lounge and Nuts on Clark (B18).

Concourse C: Subway (C25), Harvest & Grounds (C11) and the Robert Mondavi Experience wine bar (C19, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.).

The ExpressTram runs along Concourse A only, so plan your walk if you are heading to B or C.

Evans Terminal

Evans has fewer choices, mostly near Gate D26 and the Gate D6 to D23 stretch.

  • Near Gate D26: Outback Steak House, Chick-fil-A, Pei Wei and Starbucks.
  • D23 to D14: Anita's Kitchen, Atwater Brewery, Common Grace and Jolly Pumpkin.
  • D9 to D6: Brioche Doree, Air Margaritaville and Detroit Street Cafe with Zingerman's Coffee, which closes at 5 p.m.
  • Near Gate D15: McDonald's.
  • MOD Pizza, open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. past security.

Outback opens at 7 a.m. and Pei Wei at 10 a.m. Monday to Saturday.

DTW's directory says to order ahead in the Dunkin' app at McNamara Baggage Claim. It does not list mobile ordering for other places. Check each restaurant's own app or ask at the counter.
