Every on-airport rental company at Boston Logan works from one building, the Rental Car Center at 15 Transportation Way, East Boston, MA 02128. You reach it by free blue Massport shuttle from the lower level of Terminal A, B, C or E. Shuttles serving the center generally run every 5 to 6 minutes.

Your options at a glance

Where the Rental Car Center is

The Rental Car Center (RCC) is at 15 Transportation Way, East Boston, MA 02128. Massport says the rental companies at the airport are all located there.

It is a big garage with three levels for each rental car family and a roof level for overflow parking.

Massport does not publish opening hours for the center. Check your rental confirmation or call your company before a very early or very late pickup.

How to get there from each terminal

Take the free On-Airport Shuttle. Go to the lower level of your terminal, follow the Ground Transportation signs, then look for Shuttle Bus on the curb. Signs show where each route stops.

  • Terminals A and B: Route 22 to the Rental Car Center
  • Terminals C and E: Route 33 to the Rental Car Center
  • Early morning and late evening: Route 55 serves all terminals, the Blue Line station and the center

Massport lists Routes 22 and 33 as running 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. Shuttles serving the center generally run every 5 to 6 minutes. Massport does not give a ride time, so allow extra time on busy days.

The shuttles are low floor, with luggage racks and wheelchair lifts.

Book directly with each brand for rates and to check its pickup hours.

Fees and taxes

Massport does not publish airport rental fees such as a facility charge or an airport tax. Your rental company shows these in the quote, so check the full total before you book.

Returning your car

Massport's instruction is simple: follow the signs to the Rental Car Center when you drive to the airport. Then take the same free shuttle back to your terminal.

Roadway construction can change the approach. Check Massport's construction updates before you leave.

Off-airport rental companies

Massport lists no off-airport rental companies for Boston Logan. If you book a company that is not in the Rental Car Center, ask it for its shuttle pickup point and phone number.

Turo and other car sharing

Boston Logan allows peer to peer car sharing. To pick up a Turo car, take the On-Airport Shuttle Route 88 to the ground level of the Economy Parking Garage. Route 88 runs 24 hours. Turo's phone number on the Massport page is 415-965-4525.

The cars are in a special Peer2Peer area of the Economy garage, with its entrance on Prescott Street. Hosts need a transponder, which costs $30 to enroll. Massport's P2P parking rates were effective February 1, 2025, and they change, so confirm with the host and Massport.

Accessible rentals

Massport says all car rental agencies provide hand-controlled cars with 24 to 48 hours of advance notice. The on-airport shuttles are accessible and drop off at the Rental Car Center.

What is changing now

Construction is underway around the terminals. The Terminal C bus stop for Logan Express, private buses and other shuttles is moving to outside door C102. Massport's notice does not list the blue Massport shuttles to the Rental Car Center among the services affected. Runway safety work is also underway through November, so expect possible flight delays in the afternoon and evening.
