PHX Rental Car Center: Location, Sky Train and Companies
The PHX Rental Car Center is at 1805 E. Sky Harbor Circle South, in its own building south of Buckeye Road. You get there on the free PHX Sky Train from Terminal 3 or Terminal 4, which PHX said in 2022 takes under 8 minutes from Terminal 4. Thirteen rental companies work from the center, and the airport says to reserve ahead because walk-up cars are limited.

Where the PHX Rental Car Center is
The Rental Car Center is its own building at 1805 E. Sky Harbor Circle South. It sits between 16th Street and 24th Street, south of Buckeye Road. Every rental company at the airport works from this one building, so you do not need to hunt for separate lots.
PHX does not publish opening hours for the center. Each company sets its own, so check yours before a very late or very early pickup. Reserve ahead. The airport warns that cars are limited for walk-up customers.
How to get there from Terminal 3 and Terminal 4
Take the PHX Sky Train. It is free, and it runs between the terminals and the Rental Car Center. PHX's rental page names the Sky Train as the way to reach the center.
- From Terminal 3: the station is on Level 5. Take the escalators in Ticketing up to Level 4, enter the station, then ride up to the Level 5 platform.
- From Terminal 4: the station is on Level 3, and PHX says you can walk directly from the train to the security checkpoint.
- Direction: stay on until the last stop, the Rental Car Center. The train also stops at 24th Street Station between Terminal 3 and the center. That station has a parking lot, Valley Metro bus Route 13, a walkway to the Greyhound station and rideshare and Waymo pickup on its south curb, so do not get off there for your car.
- From the light rail: Valley Metro Rail meets the Sky Train at 44th and Washington streets. Ride the Sky Train to its last stop.
PHX published a ride time when the last section opened in December 2022: under 8 minutes from Terminal 4 to the Rental Car Center. Trains run 24 hours a day. The airport gives three different wait times, so treat them as ranges: 3 to 5 minutes on the rental page, about 3.5 to 7 minutes between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. on the Sky Train page, and 3 to 6 minutes in the accessibility FAQ.
From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly maintenance can stretch waits to 15 minutes or more, and you may have to transfer trains. Leave extra time for a late arrival.
Rental companies and phone numbers
PHX lists 13 companies in the center. Phone numbers below come from the airport page. Toll-free numbers are in parentheses where listed.

The airport lists no rental companies outside the airport. If you find a cheaper off-airport lot, ask that company how its shuttle works and where it picks you up.
What is inside the center
There is an Information Counter in the main lobby, directly across from the Phoenix Magazine Cafe and Market, which is the center's food, drink and retail stop.
Early Bag Check is available here. PHX says you can check your bags after returning your car and travel lighter to the terminal.
Returning your car
Return your car to the Rental Car Center at 1805 E. Sky Harbor Circle South, then ride the Sky Train to your terminal. PHX does not publish step by step return lanes, so follow the signs for your company and ask the counter if you are unsure.
In the train, read the electronic signs or listen to the announcements so you get off at the right terminal for your flight. Terminal 3 serves Delta, United, Alaska, Frontier and JetBlue, among others. Terminal 4 serves American and Southwest, among others. Check your boarding pass.
If you want to skip carrying bags, use Early Bag Check at the center, described above. Ask your company or the information counter about hours.
Fees and prices
PHX publishes no rental prices, taxes or airport fees on its pages. What you pay is set by your company. Read the fee lines in your reservation before you book, including any airport or facility charge, and compare the total, not the daily rate.
If you need wheelchair assistance
The Sky Train is accessible. The wheelchair attendants who help you from the gate to baggage claim can take you to the Sky Train. At the Rental Car Center, PHX says wheelchair help is limited, so you may wait a few minutes.
For the trip back to your flight, arrange help with your rental company, either ahead of time or when you drop the car. The company may take you by wheelchair to the Sky Train or drive you to the terminal curb, and PHX says a fee may be charged for that ride. Visit the airport's accessibility page for the full details.
Road work to plan for if you drive
Construction affects several roads near the terminals. Overnight lane restrictions on Sky Harbor Boulevard at Terminal 3 are in place indefinitely, and westbound Sky Harbor Boulevard on the west side of the airport has been reduced to a single lane since Aug. 14, until further notice. The airport says terminal access stays open, but allow extra time. Check the airport's roadway restrictions page before you drive out.
