How to get to your gate at LAS

Check in at your airline's terminal. Terminal 1 serves Allegiant, American, Delta, Southwest and Sun Country. Terminal 3 serves the other airlines on the airport's list, including all international airlines, United, Alaska, JetBlue and Frontier.

Then go through the checkpoint for your gates. The airport names its checkpoints by gate letters:

  • Terminal 1: A/B Gates, C Gates (Southwest Airlines) and C/D Gates. C/D Gates is open 24 hours.
  • Terminal 3: Level 2, for the D and E gates, and the Innovation Checkpoint on Level Zero.

The airport gives no walking or tram times on the pages we checked, so leave extra time if you need the tram.

Trams to the D gates

The D gates are a satellite concourse. You reach them by automated tram, after security:

  • From Terminal 1: use the C/D gates checkpoint, then board the Blue Line Tram to the D gates.
  • From Terminal 3: after security on Level 2, take the escalators or elevators down to the tram station and board the Red Line Tram to the D gates.

At the D gates, the Blue Line goes to Terminal 1 and the Red Line to Terminal 3. The airport says walking between the two terminals is not possible. Before security, free shuttle buses link the terminals about every 20 to 30 minutes.

Domestic and international gates

Terminal 3 is home to all international airlines and to some domestic ones. It has its own check-in, baggage claim and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The airport says the east side of Terminal 3 caters to international flights.

The airport does not publish which airlines use the D gates. Airlines from both terminals can send you there, so check your boarding pass and the flight screens.

Reading the gate numbers

Each gate starts with its group letter: A, B, C, D or E. Not every number is used. The A gates run from A3 to A23, with gaps such as A4, A6 and A9. The D gates use three ranges: D1 to D26, D32 to D43 and D50 to D59. There is no E13.

Open the gate list of a group to see every gate, or type your gate in the finder above. Gates can change, so check your boarding pass and the airport screens.
