Hotels Near ATL Airport: SkyTrain, Shuttles, Minute Suites

Four Gateway hotels connect to ATL on the free SkyTrain, which runs 24/7. Most other airport hotels run a shuttle from Aisle C of the Ground Transportation Center. Need just a nap past security? Minute Suites has rest rooms on Concourses B, E and F.

Gateway hotels on the free SkyTrain

The easiest hotels for a short night are the Gateway hotels. The ATL SkyTrain is free, automated and runs 24/7, and it serves four of them:

  • Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway, about 1.6 miles from the airport as the crow flies.
  • Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel, about 1.7 miles.
  • AC Hotel Atlanta Airport Gateway, about 1.7 miles.
  • SpringHill Suites Atlanta Airport Gateway, about 1.7 miles.

The same SkyTrain also stops at the Rental Car Center, the West Parking Deck, the Georgia International Convention Center and Gateway Center Arena.

Hotels with shuttles from the Ground Transportation Center

Many other airport hotels send a shuttle to Aisle C of the Ground Transportation Center. Each hotel has its own stalls. Per the official list:

  • Stalls C1 to C2 (College Park and Camp Creek): Hotel Indigo Atlanta Airport.
  • Stalls C3 to C5 (south): Atlanta Airport Marriott, Embassy Suites Atlanta Airport, The Westin Atlanta Airport and Hyatt Place South.
  • Stalls C6 to C8 (north): Renaissance Concourse Hotel, Hilton Atlanta Airport, Drury Inn North, Embassy Suites Atlanta Airport North and Kimpton Overland.

Straight-line distances from the Domestic Terminal area: Renaissance Concourse about 0.9 miles, Drury Inn & Suites about 1.2 miles, Hilton about 1.3 miles, Hotel Indigo about 1.4 miles, Kimpton Overland about 1.8 miles and The Westin about 2.0 miles.

Heads up on Hyatt Place: the official list shows Hyatt Place South. We did not find Hyatt Place Atlanta Airport North on it, so call that hotel to confirm how its shuttle works before you count on a ride.

Hotel shuttles at the International Terminal

Hotel shuttle service at the International Terminal is limited. The pickup spot is to the right of door A3. Confirm the plan with your hotel before you land.

Minute Suites: a nap or a short rest inside the airport

Minute Suites rents private rest rooms past security on three concourses:

  • Concourse B, near Gate B24, open 24 hours.
  • Concourse E, in the center of the concourse. We did not find posted hours.
  • Concourse F, next to Gate F6, open 24 hours.

The operator says showers are available only at the Concourse E location. Prices vary, so check minutesuites.com and book ahead if you can.

Which hotel for which trip

Early flight or late arrival: pick a Gateway hotel and ride the SkyTrain, which runs around the clock.

Closest on the map: Renaissance Concourse is the nearest hotel here at about 0.9 miles in a straight line, and it is on the official shuttle list.

Landing on an international flight: ask your hotel about its International Terminal pickup first.

Just need a few hours between flights: Minute Suites on Concourses B, E and F keeps you past security.

Staying downtown instead

MARTA's Airport Station is inside the Domestic Terminal, between the North and South baggage claims, on the Red and Gold lines. The standard fare is $2.50. MARTA doesn't publish the ride time to Downtown on the pages we read, so check itsmarta.com.

By road, Downtown is about 20 minutes north of the airport in normal traffic.
