Which way into Atlanta is best?

For most travelers, MARTA is the answer. It costs $2.50, it skips the highway traffic, and the station sits inside the Domestic Terminal.

A taxi is the simplest door-to-door option if you have bags or a group. atl.com lists flat fares to Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead. Uber and Lyft work too, but ATL does not publish their fares, so check the quote in your app. The airport is about 20 minutes south of Downtown by car in normal traffic.

Prices change, so check the official pages linked below before you go.

MARTA train from the airport

The Airport Station is inside the Domestic Terminal, between the North and South baggage claims. Take the Red or Gold line.

  • Hours: weekdays 4:45 am to 1 am, weekends 6 am to 1 am. Those are system-wide hours, so for the first or last train from the airport, check the MARTA On the Go app or call 404-848-5000.
