Your options at a glance

Where the ATL Rental Car Center is

The Rental Car Center (the RCC) is at 2200 Rental Car Center Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30337. Use that address in a map app if you are driving there.

Atlanta's airport page says the building houses 12 rental brands and runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You do not pick up your car at the terminal. Everyone goes to this one building.

From the Domestic Terminal: ride the SkyTrain

Leave the Domestic Terminal by its west end, under the covered walkway. Take the escalator up to the SkyTrain station and ride to the Rental Car Center. Avis puts the ride at 5 minutes and about 1.5 miles from the terminal, and says the SkyTrain sits next to the MARTA station.

The SkyTrain is free and runs 24 hours a day, according to the airport. It is an electric, automated train, so there is no driver to wave down. Coming from domestic baggage claim, the ATL District says you can board at any hour of the day or night.

How often do trains come? The airport does not publish a frequency. The ATL District, a local tourism site, says about every 2 minutes, and every 10 minutes between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. Treat that as a guide and just board the next train.

From the International Terminal: take the shuttle

The SkyTrain station is on the Domestic side, so international arrivals use a shuttle instead. Designated shuttles leave from the arrivals level of the International Terminal for the Rental Car Center. They also go to the Domestic ground transportation center, which includes the MARTA station.

ATL says the shuttle to the RCC runs approximately every 15 minutes, and Enterprise's page gives the same interval. Add that wait to your plan if you land late.

Which rental companies are at ATL

The airport says 12 brands operate at the RCC but does not name them. Four are confirmed on their own location pages:

  • Hertz
  • Avis
  • Enterprise (counter on the 2nd level)
  • Alamo

A third-party directory lists more names, including Budget, National, Dollar, Thrifty and Advantage. We could not confirm those on company or airport pages, so check your confirmation email for the exact brand and counter before you go.

Addresses and phone numbers for the confirmed four are in the list below.

Counter hours and 24-hour returns

The building is open around the clock, but counters keep their own hours.

  • Hertz lists 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. every day. That means a gap from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Avis lists itself as open 24 hours.
  • Enterprise and Alamo do not publish counter hours on their pages, only that they accept returns 24 hours a day.

If you land in the middle of the night, call the local number before you rely on a counter. For after-hours returns, Alamo says to park where directed and drop the keys in the dropbox.

How to return your rental car

Follow the airport signs to the Rental Car Center. If you are on I-85 southbound, use exit 72 (Camp Creek Parkway), head onto Airport Boulevard, turn right on Jet Road and cross the Rental Car Center bridge. On I-85 northbound, use exit 71 (Riverdale Road), follow South Terminal Parkway, turn right on Crosswind Road, turn right at the signal and cross the bridge.

Avis says construction is under way on the Return Bridge and asks customers to allow an extra 30 minutes. Plan for it whatever company you rented from.

After you drop the car, take the elevator or stairs to the second level to board the SkyTrain back to the terminal. Enterprise also mentions a shuttle bus as an option.

Fees and extra costs

ATL does not publish airport rental fees or taxes, and Avis notes that the prices it displays leave out taxes and fees. Read the fees line on your quote before you pay, since it differs from the headline daily rate.

One figure we did find: Avis lists a $27 daily surcharge for renters under 25 (page read October 9, 2026). Prices change, so confirm with your company.

Hertz branches away from the airport

Hertz's ATL page also lists two neighborhood branches. One is in Union City at 6851 Shannon Pkwy, Suite 3, GA 30291. The other is downtown at 202 Courtland St NE, Atlanta, GA 30303. They are not at the airport, so they only make sense if your trip starts or ends in the city.

Turo at Atlanta airport

ATL is not on Turo's list of airports with delivery permits (the Georgia page was updated September 15, 2026). We found no official ATL page on Turo. Before booking, ask the host in the Turo app exactly where the handoff happens.

Accessibility

We found no dedicated accessibility guide for the RCC. The elevator is the way up to the second level and the SkyTrain on returns. ATL also publishes a printable special services map on its maps page, which covers items such as wheelchair charging stations and service animal relief areas. Call the airport or your rental company if you need specifics.
