TPA parking rates

These are the rates on tampaairport.com as of October 15, 2026, tax included. Rates change, so check tampaairport.com/parking before you go.

  • Short Term Garage: first hour free, $8 for 1 to 2 hours, then $8 per extra hour. Maximum $32 per 24 hours.
  • Long Term Garage: first hour free, $8 for 1 to 2 hours, then $8 per extra hour. Maximum $26 per 24 hours.
  • Economy Garage: first hour free, then $5 per hour. Maximum $22 per 24 hours.
  • Cell Phone Waiting Lot: free.

For additional days, the first hour is $8 in Short Term and Long Term and $5 in Economy, then the daily rate applies. The longest stay in any airport facility is 45 days.

The airport's booking page lists lower gate rate maximums ($28 in Short Term, $22 in Long Term and $18 in Economy per 24 hours). The two pages disagree, so check the rate posted at the entrance.

Which garage to pick

  • Short Term Garage: levels 4 to 9, directly above the Main Terminal. Take the elevators down to the terminal. Vehicle clearance is 6 feet 8 inches.
  • Long Term Garage: next to the Main Terminal. Take the moving walkway on Level 4 to the terminal. Clearance is 7 feet 10 inches.
  • Economy Garage: south of the Main Terminal on airport property, about 1.2 miles from the terminal. Take the elevators to Level 1, then ride the SkyConnect train. Clearance is 8 feet on levels 2 to 6 and 13 feet on Level 1 and the surface lot.

All three have accessible parking, restrooms, EV charging and SunPass Plus lanes. All garages have covered parking and are open 24/7/365, and the Economy Garage also has an uncovered surface lot for taller vehicles (13 feet). TPA's 2026 fact sheet counts 3,728 spaces in Short Term, 8,862 in Long Term and 11,290 in Economy.

Booking ahead

Booking online is always cheaper than the drive-up rate, according to the airport. There is no booking fee and prices include tax.

  • You can book up to a year ahead and no later than 24 hours before you park. Stays must be at least 12 hours and no more than 45 days.
  • Booking guarantees a space in the garage you chose, not a specific spot. You can book any garage except the cell phone lot.
  • You are charged when you book. Make changes and cancel more than 24 hours before you arrive to get a full refund. The airport also says that canceling within 24 hours of your reservation costs 50 percent of the booking.
  • Stay longer than booked and you pay the difference at the exit. Leave early and there is no refund.
  • At the gate, scan the QR code from your confirmation email. Use any lane except the SunPass lane. If the code fails, press Help on the machine.

You cannot use SunPass Plus with an online reservation.

SkyConnect train from the Economy Garage

The Economy Garage uses the SkyConnect train, a pre-security people mover between the Main Terminal, the Economy Garage and the Rental Car Center. From the garage, take an elevator to Level 1 and follow signs to the moving walkway and the station.

Trains come about every two minutes. The airport says the trip between the Main Terminal and the Rental Car Center takes under five minutes, including the stop at the Economy Garage. The train runs 24 hours a day. Between 12:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. it runs less often, with waits of about 10 minutes, for overnight maintenance. Bag carts are allowed.

Paying at the exit

If you did not book online, TPA accepts cash, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, SunPass Plus, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

SunPass Plus works in every garage. Your SunPass account must auto-replenish by credit or debit card. Use the SunPass Plus lane going in and out. To skip it, use another lane and opt out in your SunPass account.

Dropping someone off or picking them up

Parking under one hour is free in the Short Term Garage, so a quick drop-off costs nothing there.

For pickups, use the Cell Phone Waiting Lot. It is free and you reach it directly from George J. Bean Parkway. The airport says it is a 5 minute drive to the Main Terminal. Another option is the Remote Curbside at the Rental Car Center: your passenger claims bags, takes the SkyConnect train, and you meet them at the Remote Curbside, which any public vehicle can use. Waiting is not allowed at that curb, so wait in the free Cell Phone Lot near the Rental Car Center until they arrive.

EV charging

Charging is free at TPA, first come, first served. The Long Term Garage has eight spaces on Level 4 in the Brown and Lindbergh section with Level 1 chargers and a J1772 connector. The Economy Garage has four spaces on Level 1 between the Gold and Purple sections with Level 1 chargers. The Cell Phone Waiting Lot has 8 spaces. Level 2 chargers are in the Short Term Garage and the Cell Phone Waiting Lot.

TPA's FAQ says every on-airport garage has chargers, while its parking page says most do. Ask the parking operator at (813) 870-8791 if you need a charge.

Accessible parking and help

Accessible parking is available around the clock in all garages, usually next to the elevators. Look for the standard signs.

Parking reminder cards are at the elevator call buttons. If you cannot find your car, use the Assistance Phone at the nearest elevator. The parking operator is ABM Parking at (813) 870-8791 or ParkTPA@tampaairport.com. If your car will not start or you have a flat, call the same number.

Self-service Smarte Carte luggage carts are in all garages and the Main Terminal. They cost $6 with a 25 cent refund when you return the cart.

Construction and rules to know

TPA is installing new equipment in the entrance and exit lanes of the garages, with lane closures during the work. No end date was posted, so expect changing lanes.

Motorcycles cannot use the parking options. Any car left more than 45 days may be impounded. TPA is not responsible for damage or theft, so call Airport Police at (813) 870-8760 to report a problem.
