STL terminals, concourses and airlines

STL has two terminals, about 1 mile apart. Terminal 1 is the main terminal with Concourse A and Concourse C. Terminal 2 is the east terminal with Concourse E. Here is where the airlines are, according to STL's airline directory:

  • Terminal 1, Concourse A: Air Canada, Delta, United. Charter flights can depart from A15.
  • Terminal 1, Concourse C: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Frontier, Southern Airways Express. Sun Country is on STL's Terminal 1 map but not in its airline directory, so confirm it with the airline. Charter flights can depart from C28.
  • Terminal 2, Concourse E: Southwest, Lufthansa, British Airways. Frontier uses E29 for international arrivals.

STL lists 10 airlines in its airline directory. Southwest has 17 gates on Concourse E. Southwest is STL's largest airline: besides its 17 gates, a 2023 City of St. Louis airport notice says it had just under 58 percent (57.7) of STL's enplaned passengers. Airlines move, so check your boarding pass or the airline page on flystl.com. The official terminal maps page has PDF maps of both terminals.

What's changing at STL right now

Check these before you fly:

  • MetroLink: the Terminal 1 station has been closed since Monday, October 12, and the Terminal 2 station closes Monday, November 2. Metro Transit expects the work on both to finish in mid-December and has not given exact reopening dates. Until November 2, ride the Red Line to the Terminal 2 station, then take the free airport shuttle to Terminal 1 (it picks up at Terminal 2 Exit 10 and Terminal 1 Exit 12). During that period a shuttle train runs between North Hanley and Terminal 2, so riders coming from farther out transfer at North Hanley. Metro says it will share how riders connect to the airport after November 2, so check metrostlouis.org before you go.
  • Icelandair is coming to STL in May 2027, with nonstop service to Keflavik (KEF) on the Boeing 737 MAX 8. No terminal has been announced on the airport's site yet.
  • STL's 2023 Master Plan proposes a Consolidated Terminal Program that would consolidate the two terminals into a single terminal with up to 62 gates. STL says these projects are not definite, because they need airline agreement, funding approvals and permits. Nothing changes for your trip today.
  • Parking rates changed on July 1, 2026, and Lot E became reservation only.

Getting between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2

STL runs a free Terminal Shuttle, 24 hours a day, between Exit 12 at Terminal 1 and Door 10 at Terminal 2. STL says the ride takes about 10 minutes and shuttles are scheduled every 8 to 15 minutes. If you face a long delay, call the dispatch line at (314) 890-2880.

There is no walking route between the terminals. If your connection is in the other terminal, you must go through TSA security again, according to STL. Ask your airline whether you have enough time. Southern Airways Express offers a limited shuttle between concourses for its connecting passengers; call 314-332-1230 to request it.

Inside a terminal, the concourses connect to the main terminal. TSA checkpoints are at Concourse A, Concourse C and Concourse E.

Arrivals, departures and international flights

For flight times and gate changes, check your airline or flystl.com. We don't repost flight information here.

STL says the TSA recommends arriving 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international one. The airport is open 24 hours a day, but airline and TSA hours vary. TSA checkpoint hours are 3:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Concourse A, and 3:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Concourses C and E.

International flights arrive at Terminal 2, where customs and baggage claim are in the international arrivals area. Lufthansa and British Airways use gate E29. Global Entry members use kiosks at STL. Terminal 1 also has a Meeting Place at the exit from Concourse C, and another next to baggage carousel 6. Terminal 2 has its meeting spot next to baggage carousel 1, to the left of the escalator and stairs.

Wi-Fi

STL's website does not describe a public Wi-Fi network, its name or its terms, so check your phone's Wi-Fi list when you arrive and read the terms before you connect. The Wingtips lounge at gate E31 lists high-speed Wi-Fi among its amenities. To ask about Wi-Fi, call an Information Booth at (314) 890-1333 for Terminal 1 or (314) 890-1311 for Terminal 2, or use your phone's data plan.

Lost and found

The St. Louis Airport Police Department keeps the lost and found, at Terminal 1 near Door 18. Call (314) 890-1370. STL's lost and found page lists the hours as daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., while its FAQ says Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central Time. Call before you go.

Items lost in the TSA security areas are handled by the TSA. Email STL-LostFound@tsa.dhs.gov or use the form on tsa.gov. STL also suggests contacting your airline.

Luggage storage

STL says personal items may not be left unattended in the airport, and it cannot provide lockers or other storage spaces for belongings at this time. If you need to leave bags, ask your airline or your hotel. Southwest has a baggage office in Terminal 2, and United, American and Delta have baggage offices in Terminal 1, but these handle delayed or damaged bags, not storage.
