Food before and after security

The directory marks only a few places by side of security. Einstein Bros. Bagels in Terminal 2 West is pre-security, and SAN SUPPLY CO in Terminal 1 is right after security. For the rest, the directory gives a gate area but not which side of the checkpoint it is on. If you are not sure, check the airport's interactive map on san.org before you go through security.

SAN also lists the Jetbox shop in Terminal 2 East for snacks, drinks and travel essentials.

Early and late food, hours and mobile ordering

We found no opening hours for any restaurant on SAN's Shop and Dine directory. We also found no list of places open early or late, and no airport wide mobile ordering page. Before an early flight, check the restaurant on its own website or app, or eat where your airline's departures are busiest. SAN says security checkpoints reopen at about 4:15 a.m. and morning ticket counters are staffed by 4:30 a.m., so expect most food to open after that.

Bars, coffee and quick bites

Bars and cocktail spots in the directory: Club 42 Tequila Bar, Prado at the Airport, Cutwater, Beaudevin, Stone Brewing and SIP Wine Bar. Coffee: Better Buzz and Lofty Coffee in Terminal 1, Starbucks, Pannikin and Peet's in Terminal 2 West, and San Life Market featuring Illy Coffee in Terminal 2 East. For a fast, cheap bite, look at McDonald's in Terminal 1 and Jack in the Box or Panda Express in Terminal 2 East.

Wi-Fi, charging and water

SAN offers free Wi-Fi in 2 hour sessions, and you reconnect to keep going. Fuel Rod charging stations in both terminals sell a portable charger for $25 or swap it for a charged one. Prices at the airport change, so check at the counter.
