Which parking should you pick?

Terminal 1 Daily is the airport's pick for long stays at Terminal 1. Green and Gold Ramps connect by enclosed skyways on Level 3. Blue, Red, Silver, Pink and Brown connect via Level T.

Terminal 2 Value ramps (Orange and Purple) connect to Terminal 1 by free light rail. The Quick Ride Ramp is on the airport campus, with a free 24/7 shuttle to either terminal.

Not sure which terminal your airline uses? The airport's prebooking tool recommends one based on your airline.

Prebook online and save

You do not have to prebook. You can drive in, take a ticket and pay at exit. The airport says prebooking guarantees a space and gets the best rates, with no extra fee.

  • Book at onlineparking.mspairport.com, no account required
  • Book at least 12 hours ahead and up to 6 months ahead
  • Minimum stay online is 24 hours; maximum is 45 days
  • Scan the QR code from your confirmation email to enter and exit
  • MSP's FAQ says you can change or cancel up to 12 hours before arrival for a full refund, but it also asks for changes 24 hours ahead. To be safe, change or cancel at least 24 hours before.
  • No refund if your stay is shorter than booked

Your booking covers a ramp, not a specific space. Pick Terminal 1 and you can use any of the Terminal 1 ramps MSP names for prebooking (Green, Gold, Red, Blue or Silver). Pick Terminal 2 and you can use the Orange or Purple Ramp.

Quick Ride Ramp and shuttle

The Quick Ride Ramp is at 5315 Northwest Drive, St. Paul, MN 55111. From Highway 5, exit onto Post Road, then turn north onto Northwest Drive. The ramp is on your left.

A free 24/7 shuttle picks you up at your vehicle and takes you to Terminal 1 or 2. At Terminal 1 it stops in the Brown Ramp lobby near the Ground Transport Center. At Terminal 2 it stops in the Ground Transport Center on the ground level of the Purple Ramp. The airport publishes no frequency for the main shuttle. Only the wheelchair-lift van has a set schedule (see below). Motorcycle parking is on the ground level on the northwest side.

Paying for parking

All major credit and debit cards work at drive-up pay stations. The airport does not accept cash or checks at its parking facilities. Valet is credit card only. If you have no card, use a cash-to-card machine inside the terminal:

  • Terminal 1, Departures level, near Door 2
  • Terminal 1, Departures level, near Door 4, across from the Delta counter
  • Terminal 1, Departures level, across from the United counter
  • Terminal 2, Departures level, near the entrance

Lost your ticket? Drive to the exit and push the call button.

Cell phone waiting lots

MSP has two free cell phone waiting lots on the south side of Post Road, between Terminals 1 and 2. They are 0.2 miles apart.

  • East lot: 4921 Post Road, Minneapolis, MN 55450
  • West lot: 4211 Post Road, Minneapolis, MN 55450

The airport does not publish hours for the lots. Check the cell phone lot page before you go.

Drop-off and short pickups

Hourly parking at Terminal 1 is limited to visits shorter than 4 hours and is on Level 3 of the Gold Ramp, with a skyway to the terminal. Terminal 2 Hourly is in the Orange and Purple Ramps, and the airport also describes Hourly Parking as intended for visits shorter than 4 hours.

At the curb, federal security rules apply. You may stop only long enough to drop off or pick up a waiting traveler. When picking up, the traveler must already be outside. Unattended vehicles may be ticketed and towed.

At Terminal 1, the FLEX Lane in the upper-level Departures loop is another drop-off and pick-up area, with doors 5 to 8. At Terminal 2, the free Express Drop-off / Pick-up is on Level 2 of the Purple Ramp, next to the skyway.

EV charging

Charging is free, first come, first served, with no limit on your stay. At Terminal 1 it is on Level 8 of the Blue, Red and Silver Ramps. The airport lists 50 stations in the Silver Ramp, 5 in Red and 5 in Blue, so Silver is the best bet for an open spot. At Terminal 2 it is on Level 7 of the Orange Ramp. One airport page says four stations there, and the other gives no count, so do not count on a specific number.

Accessible parking, valet and ePark Elite

Accessible parking is on every level of the ramps at both terminals, at regular ramp rates. You cannot reserve a specific accessible space. A free accessible shuttle with a wheelchair lift runs about every 20 minutes from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. MSP's own pages give two Terminal 1 stops for this shuttle (Level 1 of the Brown Ramp, or the east roadway curb at Level 1 of the Gold Ramp) and two overnight numbers (612-794-4147 and 612-725-4681). Follow the overhead signs or call.

Valet parking at Terminal 1 has no length-of-stay limit, and you reach it by following the inbound roadway past the Daily and Hourly exit.

ePark Elite guarantees a reserved space next to Terminal 1. It costs $65 a month plus standard Terminal 1 rates. Call 612-726-5650.

Height limits and help

Clearance is 7 feet in the Terminal 1 ramps and Terminal 2 Value (9 feet 2 inches for oversized vehicles in Terminal 1 Hourly). Terminal 2 Hourly clears 8 feet 2 inches and the Quick Ride Ramp 9 feet 10 inches. Taller vehicles may not use prebooking. Parking help (ABM Parking Management) is at 612-725-4681, and the airport says to call it if you cannot find your car or it will not start. Ramps are patrolled by police and under camera 24 hours a day.
