The terminal-area garages
Eight garages sit in the Central Terminal Area, with more than 7,000 stalls. They are open 24/7, holidays included.
Height limits vary, which matters for vans and roof boxes:
- P1, P3, P4: 7 ft 6 in
- P2A, P6: 8 ft 2 in
- P2B: 6 ft 10 in
- P5, P7: 7 ft
- Valet in P1 and P7: 8 ft 2 in
Motorcycles park free in the General and Premium areas. Disability placards don't waive the fee: you pay the posted rate. There is no monthly parking in the garages.
Economy and Budget lots
LAX Economy Parking is at 6100 W. 94th Street. It has more than 4,000 stalls and a free shuttle that runs 24 hours. Shuttle pickup is on Level 1 of the garage (southeast section) and at the pink LAX Shuttle zones on the Arrivals level. LAX doesn't publish how often it runs, so leave a cushion.
LAX Budget Parking is at 5455 West 111th Street. It has more than 2,000 uncovered stalls, takes reservations or same-day drive-ups, and has a free 24-hour shuttle every 20 to 25 minutes. It has no EV chargers.
Want cheap parking near the terminals? Budget is the lowest published rate at $20 a day. Economy costs more but has EV charging.
Long-term parking
There is no monthly parking in the terminal garages. For a long trip, Budget ($20 per 24 hours) and Economy ($35 per 24 hours) are the cheapest published options.
Parking stays are limited to 30 days. Vehicles parked longer can be impounded at the owner's expense. If you need more time, the parking operator, ABM, handles extensions at 310-646-2911.
Reserving LAX parking
You can pre-pay online. The minimum is one 24-hour rate. You get a full refund if you cancel at least 2 hours before your arrival.
Your reservation QR code works in any available General parking lane. Premium and valet have their own lanes. If you stay more than 2 hours past your reserved time, a new session starts at the posted rates.
You can pay by major card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Cash works at pay-on-foot machines.
EV charging
Every terminal-area garage and Economy Parking has chargers. Economy alone has 514 active ones. Budget Parking has none.
The price is $2 per session plus $0.45 per kWh on Level 2, or $0.80 per kWh on DC fast chargers. LAX says there are no idle fees. Prices can change, so check the parking page.
Cell phone waiting lots
LAX has two free cell phone lots for drivers meeting arriving passengers:
- 96th Street lot: 6217 96th Street, 100 stalls, just east of the Sky Way bridge entrance. Reach it from Jetway Boulevard or westbound 96th Street.
- Century lot: 5800 W. Century Blvd., 23 stalls, at the southeast corner of Century and Airport Boulevards.
Both are open 24 hours and allow up to 2 hours. Your vehicle must be attended, commercial and ride-service vehicles aren't allowed, and there is no shuttle to the terminals.
How long to wait? LAWA says passengers typically reach the curb about 15 minutes after landing with no checked bags, 30 minutes with bags and 45 minutes on international arrivals. Pick them up on the outer curb of the Lower/Arrivals level outside baggage claim.
Rideshare and taxi pickup at LAX-it
Taxis and the authorized ride apps (Lyft, Opoli and Uber) pick up at LAX-it, next to Terminal 1, not at the terminal curbs. Drop-offs still go to the Upper/Departures level of your terminal.
From the Lower/Arrivals level, take the free green LAX-it shuttle from the green LAX-it signs. You can also walk: LAX's estimator shows about 2 minutes from Terminal 1, 4 from Terminal 7 and 10 from Terminal 4.
Taxis also load inside Parking Structure 3, between Tom Bradley and Terminal 3 (for those two terminals), and at the far end of Terminal 7 (for Terminals 7 and 8).
