IAD parking rates at a glance

These are the drive-up rates the airport published on October 15, 2026. Rates change, so confirm on flydulles.com.

  • Terminal Lot: $7 per hour, $40 daily maximum
  • Garage 1 and Garage 2: $7 per hour, $25 daily maximum
  • Economy Lot: $20 daily maximum
  • Valet, curbside drop-off: $45 for day 1
  • Valet, service center drop-off: $39 for day 1

The airport's separate Terminal Hourly page lists a $32 daily maximum for the same lot. That conflicts with the $40 on the Terminal Parking page, so check the exit sign or the airport before you count on either figure. The Economy page lists no hourly rate, only the daily maximum.

Reserve online to lock in your space

The airport says the lowest rates come from reserving ahead, and that a reservation guarantees both your space and price. Garages and Economy show reserved prices for your dates on the booking page.

How it works:

  • Book up to 12 months ahead and up to 12 hours before arrival.
  • You get a QR code by email. Scan it at entry and exit, held within 2 inches of the scanner.
  • You are charged at booking. Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover are accepted. Debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Android Pay are not.
  • Cancel or modify for free up to 1 hour before your entry time. No refund for a shorter stay.
  • You get a 2 hour grace period around your entry window. Overstays are charged the drive-up rate.
  • Your reservation is valid only in the product you booked, and you do not get a numbered space.

Terminal Lot: closest self-parking

The Terminal Lot is directly across from the Main Terminal. It is outdoors with no covered spaces. There is a covered walkway, and the underground pedestrian walkway can be reached from two elevator banks in rows 20 and 21. It is the airport's suggested spot for a short stay to drop off or pick up passengers. Walking time is about 5 minutes.

When it is full, take the ramp on the immediate left at the Terminal Lot exit and follow signs to Garage 1 or 2, about 2 to 3 minutes away.

Garage 1 and Garage 2

Both garages are about a 5 minute walk from the terminal. Garage 1 connects through an underground walkway with moving sidewalks and is the closest garage for domestic flights on the east side, for example United. The Metrorail Silver Line tunnel also links Garage 1 to the terminal.

Garage 2 connects by a covered walkway to the Departures level and is the best fit for most international flights, per the airport. Check your airline for gate information. Both garages show open spaces by level on counters. Height limit is 8 feet 2 inches.

Economy Lot

This is the cheapest option, with a $20 drive-up daily maximum. It is outdoors, uncovered, with covered bus shelters. The free ECONOMY shuttle runs 24/7 from Curb 2F. The airport says the ride takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

Valet parking

Curbside drop-off is in Departures Zone 3, open 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., steps from the ticket counters and the PreCheck entrance. The Valet Service Center in the Terminal Lot is open 24 hours for drop-off. Pickup is always at the Service Center, a short walk from Baggage Claim.

Express Exit: after landing, text your valet ticket number to (703) 214-4455 and your car will be waiting. Day 2 and later cost $10 per hour up to the daily maximum ($45 curbside, $39 service center). Valet questions: call 703-572-4544. The airport also promotes a PassPark Premium option for spaces closest to the terminal but publishes no rate for it.

Parking shuttles

Free shuttles run 24/7 between the terminal and all on-airport parking. The garage shuttle is labeled GARAGES, and the Economy shuttle is labeled ECONOMY. The airport's FAQ gives garage shuttles as every 10 to 15 minutes in one answer and every 15 minutes in another. Economy is every 15 minutes.

The airport's sources disagree on details: one page puts the shuttle stop at Curb 2F, another says Curb 3F. Follow the signs when you get there. All parking shuttles are wheelchair accessible.

Cell phone lot, EV charging and accessible spaces

The cell phone lot is free for up to 1 hour. It is on Autopilot Drive at the corner of Rudder Road. Do not leave your vehicle unattended. There are no restrooms. Ask arriving passengers to call when they are at the curb, since waiting at the curb can get you ticketed or towed. Flight status line: 703-572-6240.

EV charging is in both garages, on Level 1 and Level 3 (96 spaces in Garage 1, 66 in Garage 2). Two Level 1 spaces in Garage 1 and two of the ten Level 1 spaces in Garage 2 are accessible spaces. It costs nothing extra, but regular parking rates apply. The airport's EV page lists the Level 3 chargers (94 in Garage 1, 56 in Garage 2) as 120V and gives no voltage for the Level 1 units, while another airport page suggests 240V, so check the signs at the charger.

Accessible spaces are in the Terminal Lot, Garage 1, Garage 2 and Economy. They cannot be reserved. Call 703-572-4500 for help. No discounts are given.

Drop-off, pickup and Kiss & Fly

Private vehicle pickup is outside the Main Terminal on the Arrivals level. For a quick drop-off, the airport suggests the Terminal Lot for a short stay. The Kiss & Fly lane is at Garage 1: follow the terminal signs for GARAGE 1, METRO, KISS & FLY and PUBLIC BUSES. The airport points to it for dropping off or picking up someone who is using one of the Garage 1 bus services, and you may stay only 10 minutes, so use the cell phone lot if you need to wait. Those bus services stop at Garage 1, Stop 2: Loudoun County Transit, Fairfax Connector 952 and 983, Virginia Breeze, Megabus and OurBus.
