IAD lounges by concourse

Dulles says its airline lounges are run by the airlines, so access rules and hours come from the airline or card program.

  • Main Terminal: Capital One Lounge, between the East and West security checkpoints on the Ticketing Level.
  • Concourse A: Air France (next to Gate A19), Etihad (adjacent to Gate A14) and Virgin Atlantic (next to Gate A32).
  • Concourse B: British Airways (across from the B-Gates AeroTrain station), Lufthansa (next to Gates B49 and B51, temporarily closed) and Turkish Airlines (next to Gate B43).
  • Concourse C: United Club (next to Gates C7 and C17) and the United Polaris Lounge (near Gate C18).
  • Concourse D: United Club (next to Gate D8).
  • Z Gates: no lounge listed.

Dulles lists no Delta or American club. Concourse E, 14 United gates, is expected to open in October 2026 and is planned to have a 40,000 square foot United Club. It has no lounge yet.

Capital One Lounge in the Main Terminal

This is the one lounge you reach before you leave the Main Terminal. It sits just beyond TSA PreCheck, between the East and West security checkpoints on the Ticketing Level. Capital One describes it as after the PreCheck and Clear checkpoints. Reservations are not required: show a boarding pass with a confirmed seat assignment at reception.

Hours are daily from 5:30am to 9:00pm. Dulles mentions shorter holiday hours, but its list looks out of date, so check Capital One for this year's holiday hours.

Capital One says primary cardholders show a Venture X or Venture X Business card or digital lounge pass, and that cardholders and guests need a same-day departing or connecting boarding pass. Access is not guaranteed and depends on space. Guest rules and fees change, so read Capital One's lounge terms before you bring anyone.

United Clubs and Polaris Lounge

Dulles lists United Clubs next to Gates C7, D8 and C17, shared with Star Alliance Gold members. The Polaris Lounge is near Gate C18. Dulles's master plan also promises more lounge space, including one of the largest United Polaris Lounges in the world, with no date.

Club hours, the one-time pass price and Polaris access rules are on united.com and in the United app, not on the airport's site. Check there before you plan around a visit. Dulles is a United hub, so these clubs get busy at connection banks.

Concourse A: Air France, Virgin Atlantic and Etihad

The Air France lounge is next to Gate A19. Dulles says access is shared with Emirates, KLM, Korean Air, Icelandair and certain SkyTeam partners, and that food is served. Priority Pass lists the Air France - KLM Lounge in Concourse A, 7:30am to 9:00pm.

The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse is next to Gate A32. Priority Pass lists it from 9:00am to 6:00pm.

The Etihad Lounge is adjacent to Gate A14. Chase lists it as open daily from 6:00am to 10:00pm for eligible Sapphire Reserve and Priority Pass Select access.

Concourse B: Turkish, British Airways and Lufthansa

The Turkish Airlines lounge is next to Gate B43. Dulles says walk-ins are accepted and that access is shared with a long list of airlines, including Air Canada, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways and United. Priority Pass lists it from 7:15am to 10:00pm.

The British Airways lounge is across from the B-Gates AeroTrain station. Take the elevator from the concourse level. Access is shared with Aer Lingus. The airport page gives no hours.

The Lufthansa lounge next to Gates B49 and B51 is temporarily closed for renovations. Dulles and Amex both show it closed, with no reopening date. Use another lounge your ticket allows.

Priority Pass at IAD

Priority Pass lists three lounges at Dulles that you can enter with a membership, plus a restaurant voucher:

  • Air France - KLM Lounge, Concourse A, 7:30am to 9:00pm.
  • Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, Concourse A, 9:00am to 6:00pm.
  • Turkish Airlines Lounge, Concourse B, 7:15am to 10:00pm.
  • Chef Geoff's, Concourse C, 6:00am to 10:00pm, a restaurant voucher instead of a lounge.

These are the hours Priority Pass shows, not day by day. Check the Priority Pass app for guest rules, visit limits and any extra fee before you count on free entry. Priority Pass also lists a Gameway venue in Concourse E, which is not open yet, so ignore it for now.

Chase Sapphire and Amex Platinum

Chase lists the Etihad Lounge near Gate A14 for Sapphire Reserve cardmembers. Show an eligible Chase card or a Chase-issued Priority Pass Select membership and a departing boarding pass. Chase's page lists no Sapphire Lounge by The Club at IAD.

Amex's Platinum lounge list for Dulles shows the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse and Air France - KLM Lounge in Concourse A, and the Turkish Airlines lounge in Concourse B, each marked enrollment required. Amex lists no Centurion Lounge at IAD. Amex also shows the Lufthansa lounge closed.

Can you buy a day pass?

Dulles does not publish day pass prices for its lounges, so none are listed here.

The Turkish Airlines lounge accepts walk-ins, according to Dulles, but gives no price. Capital One's Venture X access is tied to the card, and guest fees are in its terms. For United Clubs, ask in the United app or at the club desk.

If you just want a quiet seat and a meal, a restaurant voucher at Chef Geoff's through Priority Pass is one option.

Reaching a lounge in another concourse

Concourses A, B and C are on the AeroTrain from the Main Terminal. Concourse D has no train station, so you walk through Concourse C or ride a mobile lounge. The United Club next to Gate D8 is the one lounge in D.

If your lounge is in a different concourse from your gate, leave extra time and check your gate again after security, because gates change.
