Which way to downtown is best?

For the lowest cost, ride the Love Link to Inwood/Love Field Station and take a DART train. The airport says passengers ride free from Love Field to the station, and you pay only for the train.

For the most direct trip with bags, take a taxi or app ride from the valet pavilion and Garage C. Taxis have a city flat rate to downtown. App ride prices show in the app before you book.

Fares

Riding the Love Link from the airport to Inwood/Love Field Station is free. A valid fare is needed for any further DART travel.

DART replaced single rides in March 2025 with a local 3-hour pass at $3 (reduced fare $1.50), and kept the local day pass at $6 (reduced $3). DART's ticket machines sell 3-hour and day passes. The airport page still quotes a $2.50 single ride from the station to the airport, which looks out of date, so check dart.org or the GoPass app for the fare you will pay.

You can pay with a contactless debit or credit card, Apple, Google or Samsung Pay, or a GoPass Tap card. Buy several mobile tickets on the GoPass app. Fares change, so check DART before you go.

Train to downtown and DFW Airport

Inwood/Love Field Station is at 2720 Inwood Rd., at the southwest corner of Inwood Road and Denton Drive. The Green and Orange lines stop here. For downtown, DART lists the Green Line toward Buckner or the Orange Line toward LBJ/Central or Parker Road. Transfers to other lines downtown are at Pearl/Arts District, St. Paul, Akard and West End stations.

To reach DFW Airport, ride the Love Link to the station, then board an Orange Line train with a DFW destination sign to DFW Airport Terminal A Station.

The station has free parking, 385 spaces. DART does not list train frequency or trip time on its station page, so use DART's trip planner for current times.

Taxi fares

Dallas city code sets a flat rate of $18 for trips between Love Field and the central business district, and $15 between Love Field and the Dallas Market Center area. Other trips run on the meter, with a minimum charge of $8 for each trip leaving the airport. The code lists an initial meter drop of $2.25, $0.20 for each one ninth of a mile, and $0.45 for each 1.5 minutes of waiting. It also lists an extra $0.50 for each passenger trip leaving the airport.

These figures come from the city's transportation for hire ordinance, last amended in 2015, so ask the driver to confirm the fare, including any airport charge, before you ride.

Taxi and rideshare pickup

Pickup for app rides (except Alto), peer to peer, private luxury vehicles and taxis is at the valet pavilion and Garage C Level 1, at the southeast end of the terminal. Follow the terminal signs.

Alto picks up at the lower level curb. Uber, Lyft and Wingz are listed on the airport page.

Drop off for app rides, taxis and limos is the upper level ticketing hall curb.

For accessible rides, use the lower level curb. In Uber, search for Accessible. In Lyft you must be at the lower level curb for the pickup to show.

Shuttles, limos and buses

Ride-share shuttles use the lower level of the terminal curb on Herb Kelleher Way, in front of Garage A. Empire Shuttle, Aries Shuttle and Sky Hop are listed. Some require reservations.

Limousines must be prearranged, and rates are set by the companies. Buses use the lower level curb on Herb Kelleher Way.

Trip times by road

The airport is about 7 miles from downtown by road, roughly 15 minutes without traffic. The airport does not publish drive times to Uptown, Deep Ellum or other neighborhoods, so use your map app for live traffic.
