AUS Parking: Garages, Economy Lots, Cell Phone Lot, Rates

The airport offers Economy Lot parking and two garages. The Red Garage is the closest to the terminal and baggage claim, and the Blue Garage is also named by the airport. The Economy lots are the closest surface parking to the Barbara Jordan Terminal and use a free shuttle.

Economy lots: $14 per day since May 12, 2026 (checked October 15, 2026). Cars that entered before 11:59 p.m. on May 11 paid the old $12 daily rate for their stay.

Garages: AUS says the Red and Blue Garage rates "remain unchanged" in its May 2026 Economy rate notice, but it prints no table. Its accessibility page says $5 per hour in both garages, an older figure. Austin local press reported that from May 1, 2025 the Red Garage costs $7 per hour and $35 per day, and the Blue Garage $26 per day. Short-Term Hourly Parking on Level 3 of the Red Garage is fully automated and takes credit cards only.

Short-Term Hourly Parking is on Level 3 of the Red Garage, directly across from the airline check-in counters. It is meant for people meeting or dropping off passengers.

There is no parking in front of the terminal, and violators are fined. The curb is for active loading and unloading only.

A complimentary shuttle runs between the Economy lots and the Barbara Jordan Terminal. Shuttles pick up on the lower level across from baggage claim, and wheelchair accessible shuttles are available. AUS does not publish how often the shuttle runs or its hours, so leave a cushion.

The free cell phone lot is open 24/7 at the Texaco station at 2901 Spirit of Texas Drive. From SH 71, take the Spirit of Texas Drive Airport Cargo/Service Entrance exit and turn right. Go straight at two four-way stops, then turn left into the station.

There are flight information displays, restrooms and food, including Whataburger and Subway. One airport page prints the street number as 2801, so trust the Texaco station and the signs.

Accessible spaces are in the Red Garage closest to the terminal and next to the covered shuttle stops in the lots. There are no designated spaces at the terminal curb.

ABIA Parking also lists Disabled Veterans/Military Honors Parking, free battery jumps and free tire inflation. A free Mobility Assistance Zone on the lower curb serves rideshares, taxis and wheelchair accessible vehicles daily from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.

A March 2025 AUS announcement describes a new Yellow Garage of about 7,000 spaces, with 3,000 spaces planned by 2026 and full completion estimated in 2027. It will include dedicated EV charging stations. The Red Garage must be removed for the northern expansion of the terminal once the Yellow Garage opens, which AUS said could be as early as late 2026. Economy Lot B closed in March 2025 to make room for it. Check ABIAParking.com for which spaces are open on your travel date.

The Blue Garage exit ramp is closed intermittently from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. because crews sometimes need that area for the Yellow Garage project, expected through 2026. Exit through the first floor of the Blue Garage, then use the Red Garage toll booth. Detour signs lead the way.

If you fly from Concourse M, you park in the same lots and garages as for the main terminal.

Both the upper and lower roadways are open for drop-off, so use whichever is less crowded. From the lower level, escalators and elevators go up to ticketing and security.
