Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) has one passenger terminal, the Barbara Jordan Terminal at 3600 Presidential Blvd. Since April 1, 2026, every airline, including Allegiant and Frontier, uses it. Terminals at a glance

  • BJT
    Open

Main airlines: Every airline at AUS uses the Barbara Jordan Terminal (3600 Presidential Blvd): Aeromexico, Air Canada, Alaska, Allegiant, American, British Airways, Cayman Airways, Copa, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, KLM, Lufthansa, Porter, Southwest, Sun Country, United, Viva Aerobus and WestJet. AUS's airline list shows 19 airlines. Allegiant and Frontier moved here from the South Terminal on April 1, 2026. The list gives no terminal split because there is only one. AUS does not describe itself as a hub for a specific airline, so check your boarding pass or airline for its ticket counter and gate area.

The only terminal at AUS. All airlines check in here, and the airport directory places shops and restaurants from about Gate 3 to Gate 30.

  • Concourse M
    Under construction

Main airlines: No airlines are listed yet. Concourse M is a midfield gate area reached by bus from Gate 13 of the Barbara Jordan Terminal. AUS says construction is scheduled to begin in 2026 with completion planned for 2028. Your airline will tell you if your flight uses it.

A future midfield bus-only gate area. Groundbreaking was announced in September 2026, with completion planned for 2028.

AUS terminal and airlines

AUS has a single terminal, the Barbara Jordan Terminal, and AUS says all commercial airlines operate under one roof. AUS's airline list shows 19 airlines departing from it:

  • Aeromexico, Air Canada, Alaska, Allegiant, American, British Airways, Cayman Airways
  • Copa, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, KLM, Lufthansa, Porter
  • Southwest, Sun Country, United, Viva Aerobus, WestJet

AUS does not publish a split of ticket counters or gates by airline. Check your boarding pass and the airport's interactive map for your gate.

What's changing at AUS right now

Check these before you fly:

  • The South Terminal closed on April 1, 2026 (March 31 was the last day of operations). Allegiant and Frontier now use the Barbara Jordan Terminal for check-in, security and departure. The structure will be removed to make way for new midfield taxiways.
  • Concourse M, a midfield gate area, held its groundbreaking in September 2026. AUS says it will be reached only by bus from Gate 13 and is planned to finish in 2028. There will be no separate TSA checkpoint for it.
  • The Atrium Infill project is under way on the Departures and Arrivals levels, adding space for security screening, bag check and passenger processing. AUS says passengers may hear construction noise between midnight and 8 a.m.
  • The West Gate Expansion (started August 2023) is listed as running to late 2026, with temporary walls and barriers.
  • The Blue Garage exit ramp closes intermittently from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. through 2026. Drivers are sent to the first floor and out through the Red Garage toll booth.
  • Busy days: AUS posts high-volume day alerts on flyaustin.com before big events. Check the site before you fly and arrive early.
  • The Red Garage is to be removed once the new Yellow Garage opens, as early as late 2026. See our AUS parking page.

Arrivals, departures and getting to the curb

For flight times and gate changes, check your airline or the arrivals and departures board on flyaustin.com. We do not repost flight information here.

AUS recommends arriving at least 2.5 hours before a domestic flight if you use general TSA screening, and checking in at your airline counter at least 3 hours before an international flight. Allow extra time with checked bags, small children, a large group, or if you have not flown in a while.

How the curbs work:

  • Drop-off: both the upper (departures) and lower (arrivals) levels are open. Use whichever is less crowded.
  • Private pickup: lower level baggage claim or the upper level. The curb is for active loading only and there is no parking in front of the terminal.
  • Rideshare and taxis pick up under the Consolidated Rental Car Facility, behind the Red Garage. The rideshare tram from the Red Garage first floor serves it every day from 4 a.m. to midnight.
  • Waiting for someone? The free cell phone lot is open 24/7 on Spirit of Texas Drive. AUS prints the street number as 2901 on two pages and 2801 on another, so follow the Texaco station signs.
  • International arrivals: meet people at the Customs exit, far left (east) past bag carousel 7 on the lower level.

International flights and customs

Arriving international passengers need a passport or other documents and must declare items of value. Meet arriving passengers at the Customs exit, far left (east) past bag carousel 7 on the lower level.

Southwest announced three new international destinations from AUS: Nassau (NAS), Punta Cana (PUJ) and Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR). AUS gives June 3, 2027 as the start (some news outlets say June 5), with weekend flights reported. Confirm dates with Southwest. AUS's airline list also includes British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, Air Canada, Aeromexico, Copa, Cayman Airways, Porter, Viva Aerobus and WestJet.

Getting around AUS and to the city

Because there is one terminal, you do not need a shuttle to change terminals. A free shuttle runs between the Economy Lots and the terminal.

To get to the rental car facility and rideshare pickup, AUS runs two trams: the Red Garage First Floor to Rideshare Tram (every day from 4 a.m. to midnight) and the Mobility Tram on the Red Garage third floor, which AUS lists as a pilot. Most AUS pages give the Mobility Tram as 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, subject to change. Another page gives different hours, covered on our AUS car rental page.

For the city, CapMetro's high-frequency Route 20 serves the airport. For fares and schedules, see capmetro.org or call 512-474-1200. Taxi companies listed by AUS include ATX Co-Op Taxi (512-333-5555), Central City Taxi (512-400-4044) and Z-Trip (512-452-9999). By road, downtown Austin is about 8 miles away.

Security checkpoints

AUS describes its TSA checkpoints on two pages that do not agree. The travel page lists four checkpoints, all leading to all gates, with the first typically opening at 3 a.m. The travel tips page lists Checkpoint 1, 2 East, 2 West and a Checkpoint 3 closed through 2026. Check the signs when you arrive.

Per AUS, Checkpoint 1 has general screening, Priority/Premium and CLEAR, and Checkpoint 2 West has TSA PreCheck. Lines move faster with PreCheck or CLEAR. For the full security rundown, see our AUS security page.
