Is there a hotel inside SMF?

The airport says the new Elkhorn Boulevard road opens the way for future hotels, restaurants and other traveler services at Metro Air Park next to the airfield. That is a plan, not an open hotel, so do not count on it for a trip today.

If your hotel has no shuttle

Taxis: Sacramento Independent Taxi Owners Association cars wait in the ground transportation area by baggage claim. The airport lists a $4 flag drop plus $3.00 for each additional mile. Prices change, so check the airport's taxi page.

Ride apps: Uber, Lyft and Wingz have agreements to operate at SMF. Pickup areas depend on your terminal; the airport's ride share page links to a map for Terminal A and one for Terminal B. Follow your app's pickup instructions.

Bus: SacRT Route 142 runs an express bus to downtown Sacramento. The airport says the express bus and Yolobus 42A and 42B together run every 20 to 30 minutes, but SacRT lists Route 142 every 60 minutes. Neither lists hotel stops, so check the schedule for your hotel's address.

Park, sleep and fly

Driving in? Some hotels near airports sell stay and park packages, but SMF does not list any hotel parking partners. If you plan to leave a car, ask the hotel directly and compare with the airport's own parking on its parking page.

Moving between terminals after check-in
