Where the SEA Rental Car Facility is
Every rental company at SEA works from one off-site building, the Rental Car Facility, at 3150 S. 160th St., SeaTac, WA 98188. The airport says all companies operate at this off-site facility.
The airport says the dedicated shuttle buses run free, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Put the address above in your map app if you are driving there yourself.
How to get to the rental cars from the terminal
Walk out to the lower drive on the baggage claim level. The airport has two rental car pickup areas:
- The north end of the terminal, near Alaska Airlines.
- The south end, near the international airlines. If you land on an international flight, clear Customs first. You exit at Gina Marie Lindsey Hall at the south end of the terminal.
The shuttle carries you and your bags on a short drive that the airport puts at five minutes. SEA publishes no time between buses, so ask your rental company if you are cutting it close.
The airport's ground transportation map also shows the Rental Car Shuttle stop on Arrivals Drive, next to the airporters and public buses.
Returning the car and getting back to your flight
At the facility, board the shuttle outside the building where the customer service counters are. Depending on your airline, you board a dedicated North or South bus.
The ride is about five minutes. The North bus drops you on the lower drive at the north end of the terminal, near Alaska Airlines. The South bus drops you at the south end, near the international airlines. Use the one that matches your airline.
The airport publishes no return cutoff. Leave extra room, since you also have to clear security. Enterprise accepts after-hours returns: follow the signs to the Rental Car Facility, go to the Enterprise floor, and leave the keys in the drop box.
Driving directions to the facility
Follow the Rental Car Return signs. The airport lists these routes:
- From downtown Seattle on I-5: take I-5 south to exit 154B (SR 518 west), take the airport exit and follow Rental Car Return signs to International Blvd / SR 99 south. The entrance is on the right.
- From downtown Tacoma on I-5: take I-5 north to exit 154A (SR 518 west), then follow the same signs. The entrance is on the right.
- From downtown Bellevue on I-405: take I-405 south, merge onto SR 518 west toward Burien, take the airport exit and follow the same signs. The entrance is on the right.
- From Seattle or Burien on SR 509 and SR 518: take the airport exit, follow signs for Air Cargo Rd, turn right on S 170th St, right on Air Cargo Rd, then right on S 160th St. The entrance is on the left.

The airport lists no phone number for the other companies, so use the website on your reservation. The shuttle runs all night, but that does not mean every counter is staffed all night.
Rent-A-Wreck needs one extra step. Take the Rental Car Facility shuttle first, then transfer to the company's own shuttle at the facility.
Wheelchair help on the shuttle
Tell the Rental Car Shuttle driver if you need wheelchair services after your ride. The driver contacts Prospect, the airport's service provider, to have an assistant meet you at the drop-off area.
All Rental Car Shuttles have a ramp and wheelchair securements. Each bus carries one wheelchair per trip, and priority seating is marked.
Fees, Turo and shuttle times
The airport's rental page doesn't list taxes, airport fees or how often the shuttles run, so read the fee lines on your booking confirmation and ask your company if you are cutting it close.
Peer to peer rentals such as Turo are not covered on the airport's page. Follow the pickup instructions in your Turo booking and confirm the meeting spot with the host before you land.
